The foods you should eat most of the time.100% whole grains, brown rice, beans and legumes, low fat animal protein, eggs, whole wheat pasta or Dreamfields pasta, all low carbohydrate veggies,(greens, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, squash, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, garlic) Higher carbohydrate veggies that are still good for you because of their nutritional value and fiber starting from best to least best( sweet potatos, carrots, peas, corn, white potatos) There are others in both groups but that is what has come to mind. Also low fat dairy like 1 % milk, yogurt, and low fat cheese. These have natural carbohydrates but are still healthy choices. Fruits like apples, blue berries, straw berries, oranges, grapefruit, kiwi,( bananas and watermelon and grapes are higher in sugar but can be eaten on occassion. Just remember to watch portion sizes and stick with them. I have a hub article called using the carb counting method to manage your diabetes that might give you some helpful info.
