How do you reduce the stress?

Life can be demanding and hard sometimes. It is really hard to feel good with lot of things in the head. How do you manage to calm down and get the stress off your head?

Sometimes it could be simple as a cup of coffee, or reading through a book. But it might include spending a day at the spa or doing your nails while watching a chick-flick at home. Normally, I take the cheaper way out. Just to enjoy life could be spending an hour gardening or taking a walk to Kroger. You never know.

I reduce stress by not taking on too much responsibilities that I can't handle or by sharing responsibilities. I try and share any work load. I do gardening on my days off where I can chill out in my garden and grow my favourite vegetables and flowers. For me, gardening helps if I am stressed. It helps me think better as well.

    I reduce stress by
    keeping things in perspective
    trying not to be overwhelmed
taking even the smallest steps to chip away at getting things done
    petting my dogs
    laughing
    exercising
    deep breathing
    thinking positive
I wrote many hubs about stress. You are welcome to read them, I think they may help.

Exercise releases endorphins and will help to relieve stress. Taking a walk, or doing a favorite activity, riding a bike, or going to the gym, gardening, what ever your favorite activity might be.
B complex vitamins are the stress vitamin, the more stress, the more b vitamins you will need. Cut back on caffeine,it will only add to the problem. Increase water.
Getting a handle on to do lists, may also help. Write down what you need to do in a list, as you check those things off, you will get a sense of accomplishment. A calendar is very helpful also. Write down activities, or bills due, on one calendar, it will help to alleviate the stress of trying to remember. And kinda put things into perspective.
Are there any things that can be eliminated to reduce your "to do" list? that will also take some of the stress off of always saying yes. Leave some down time for yourself.

I have taken up a hobby. Religiously exercise and eat healthy. I also discovered that drinking plenty of water helps a lot!

Set yourself realistic expectations and learn how to say "no" when your workload or social and family commitments get too much. Asking for help is not about failure, it's part of good team work.
