Do you believe that breakfast is the most important meal in the day?

An old German proverb says: Eat breakfast like an emperor, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar. What's your take on that?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it kick starts your body to start digesting food and gives you your energy whilst starting your metabolysm to break down butrients and transport them around your body.

Never ever skip a breakfast meal.

I entirely believe in that proverb. It's the healthy way to go and helps your metabolism throughout the day. However, it takes a huge change to really focus on breakfast.

Great proverb! Your body is already fasting throughout the night while you rest and sleep. If you don't eat, your body begins catabolizing (breaking down muscle tissue). Breaking that fast when you awaken gives you energy, builds your body up, and boosts your metabolism. Moreover, breakfast can help you burn more than 60 percent of energy than if you had not eaten. (Of course, that is with healthy foods.)

I have a few thoughts on this, and I suspect they are not the usual ones...

Firstly, only eat when hungry. So if you are not hungry when you "should" eat breakfast, do not eat. It means your body is still dealing with the stuff its been busy with in the night.

Secondly, if you eat and you eat the wrong things, you may just be hungry the entire day. I also believe that eating fruit for breakfast is the absolute best way to go.

Dinner like a beggar...good one I'd say. Its best to eat as little as possible at night before bed.

yes,I believe that breakfast is the most important meal in the day.Because breakfast may help control Americans' increasing problem with overweight and obesity. A number of studies show that people who successfully maintain a significant weight loss eat breakfast just about every day.

The German proverb gets a nod from me.  I do believe this and quite honestly, it makes simple common sense....don't you think?
It also makes health sense that the FIRST meal of the day, would be very important.  We most often awaken with an empty stomach (hungry) and a need for a kick-start (energy)  to get the body moving.
Breakfast does not have to be anything big or complicated.....a nutritional shake, a piece of fresh fruit, or even a bowl of healthy cereal, is fine.  Personally, I LIKE breakfast and take the time to enjoy it.....along with my endless cup of freshly-brewed COFFEE (the nectar of the gods! LOL)......
"Breakfast" is like a little ceremony for me, signaling that I am awake, ready and raring to go.....It's a renewal to welcome a new day.   It also guards against mid-morning stomach grumblings, fatigue and the mad dash to find something, ANYTHING to chew and swallow!   This is usually whatever is available and quick, which equals.....junk food, empty calories and/or KILLER fast food!!
So.....to answer your question, specifically.....Yes, for these reasons, I guess I would call Breakfast, the most important meal.
One final comment.....I'm also in the habit of stopping my food clock at 4pm!  Nothing further, but liquid, after 4.....no snacks, no "late meals" or treats.  Of course there are exceptions....but just as a rule.
Great question, Wasteless..........Wasteless???   What kind of a handle is that?  I don't believe it....lol

    Breakfast helps to prevent strokes
It also prevents heart attack and sudden death.
It helps lowering body cholesterol levels
        Improved concentration
        Gives more strength
        Helps building healthy brain

The word BREAKFAST itself tells that you Break your fast as it is the largest gap as you're asleep and fasting for the past 8 to 12 hours. The body requires more energy to run throughout the whole day due to long gap.

It’s always good to have a heavy breakfast and a very light dinner as in dinner you do not have much time to burn the calories before you go to sleep.
