Only use fermented soy products, because they are easier to digest and do not block thyroid function.

Foods high in b-12 would be the first step. One of the symptoms of B-12 defiency is memory loss. Among the foods highest in b-12 are meat, dairy, eggs, as well as soy, and soy products. It may also be taken in supplement form, as a complex. The b vitamins work together, and are usually present in a multivitamin. B-12 is most effective either sublingually,or administered through injection. By your doctor. They also have come out witha no shot form, just recently.  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ARI8XQ/ref … YPQRA7F3XX It supplies 10,000 mg per tablet.
The second essential element for brain health is the essential fatty acids. The brain is mostly made up of fats, therefore to keep it healthy, and to maintain congenative function your diet must include good fats. The good fats are obtained through foods such as nuts, and seeds, as well as good cooking oils such as walnut, coconut, and olive oil. The good fats do not remain solid at room temperature. So crisco,is not a good fat. Your body cannot utilize this, and will only deposit it around the waste,or in the arteries. Avocados are also a good source of fat. Guacamole is actually a health food, believe it or not. The essential fatty acids may also be obtained in supplement form, such as flax, fish,or krill oil. No fishy burps with Krill.

There are a few herbs that will help with circulatory health. When the blood is clean and flows our brains function optimally.

Gotu Kola is an herb that will help with improving circulation, considered an anti-inflammatory herb,  and aids the central nervous system.  Following the "Herbal PDR" information, it has several other benefits for the human condition.

Brain and body exercise are a key component to healthy brains.  Even stretching several times a day can improve circulation.

Stop ingesting sugars, such as processed, sodas, cakes, cookies, other types of similar foods. Sugar acts the same on your liver and kidneys as alcohol.

Alcohol, drugs, even over the counter and prescription can interfere with your brain function. Read the side effects, contraindications and discuss alternatives with your doctor.

Most important of all, make sure you do not have a disease that remains untreated.  If you can find a doctor who will provide you a complete blood panel, physical and consult on nutritional programs.

Monitor yourself for a week, keep a journal, include food, drink, activities, events. Notice when you are at your peek, when you are not. The second week, adapt your life to benefit optimal brain health.  Practice memorizing a list of three words, then increasing to a dozen by the third week. Include meditation and deep breathing exercises.

Good health, one day and one step at a time.

Thank you for a great question.
