Will failing to purchase health insurance be considered a criminal act after 2014 under Obamacare?

My understanding is that after that time if you walk into any health care facility for treatment and don't have health insurance you'll be fined. I guess, in a way, that makes it a criminal act.

I'm not sure.  What I have "heard" is that if a person works for a company and the company employs a certain number of people, they have to offer health insurance.  If the company falls under that certain number or if a person is self-employed, employees can get Medicaid if they are under a certain income.  Otherwise, they have to purchase private health insurance.

I personally can't imagine the financial chaos this is going to bring to a lot of people including businesses.

If you fail to purchase health insurance under Obamacare, you will be subject to the following fines/penalty.
Year 2014  - $95.00 per adult or 1% of family income (whichever is greater)

Year 2015  - $325.00 per adult or 2% of family income (whichever is greater)

Year 2016  - $695.00 per adult or 3% of family income (whichever is greater)

If you are subject to a penalty, it will be collected through your annual tax return.

So, in year 2015 for example, a family income of 50,000 (no matter how many people) will be fined $1,000?  Is it the same for businesses?

It should be criminal to have it in use!  Honestly, forcing someone to pay for something they may or may not want is a violation of Free Agency, which is a God-given right!
