OK. First warm the teapot, add the tea, either loose or in teabags then boil the kettle. You have to use fresh cold water and pour the water into the pot AS SOON AS the water reaches boiling point. This is crucial to good and proper tea.
Wait for the tea to brew, mash, infuse for at least four minutes. Give it a stir with a small spoon.
Then if you prefer you pour a little milk into a cup and pour the peaty golden brown tea up to around two thirds full. Add sugar to taste.
Serve with fruit cake or a digestive biscuit or three...ok...you can have a cookie if you insist.
