It can have to do with an excess of testosterone so if you have more body hair than you think is normal that could be the problem.
Sometimes hormonal problems can be caused from cysts on the ovaries which alters the correct production of hormones.
It can also involve the thyroid, auto immune system, anemia and so on.
It would be advisable to have it checked out and the potential cause investigated.
