    I had a dream once that my daughter was torn apart, limb by limb by an unseen force. It has haunted me since. I was strapped down by an unseen force, unable to get to her and help her.

    Dream?! There are many instances in my life where I wished I had been dreaming. It's too bad we only get one set of "formative years".

      gmwilliams, I'm not going to pretend that growing up in Gary, Indiana was the same as being in NYC. However during the 70s Gary was known as "The Murder Capital of the World". When the Jackson 5 left anyone who could hum formed a singing group! smile

    If I've ever had a violent dream at all I don't recall it.  The only dreams I've ever had about my late parents have involved the occasional (and quite rare) dream that one of them isn't dead after all.  I've had nightmares that were disturbing - but never violent.   Maybe that's because I don't watch horror movies.

    This dream wasn't about a loved one.  It was about a landlady I had who was extremely manipulative.  I once had an incredibly vivid dream that I was strangling her.  It was so vivid, I was surprised when I woke up.
