What is the relationship between religiosity, low self-esteem, and self-abnegation?
I think this can be answered in one word, "dogma". Religionists are taught how to think. They are taught to think of themselves as "sinners" that must be redeemed. They are taught that they are BORN this way because of "original sin" which is the dumbest thing ever thought of as it relates to low self-esteem and self-debasement as they have to spend their entire life just trying to make up for their so-called short comings. It's a horrible burden for anyone to carry.
The GUILT TRIP. Ye are sinners and the only way that you will get into heaven is if you degrenate others. They are taught that and that they are better than those who sine, which makes them look like they don't sin...vicious cycle. To have the Kingdom of God and Jesus within you don't go telling others that they are not good enough. They fail and are taught not to see the way they should be acting and that is humble. For some odd reason they are taught that the God within is holier than anyone else. God and EGO are NOT the same thing, but the church seems to teach that it is. So all these pple who are strctly religious and like to put themselves on that pedestal are not doing the will of God. God is not OUTSIDE of oneself as the church teaches, but WITHIN oneself and that does not equate to EGO like these self righteous ppl are being and doing.
Keep the ppl right where you want them..ignorant and they will continue to pay for the church...evangelists. Make them work to get into heaven, no matter if it states that in the Bible that they use to twist their minds or not. Thell them what you want them to beleive and not what is really says in that Bible so they can keep coming back for more GUILT TRIPS. Teach them to LIE about things to get them to feel desparate to get into God's good graces...the church, not the real God that is WITHIN you.

The Gallup-Healthways well-being Poll says:"A new analysis of more than 550,000 Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index interviews conducted over the last year and a half finds that Americans who are the most religious also have the highest levels of wellbeing."Why would that be? Do you agree...

Is it just a coincidence that the majority of the poorest countries in the world are the most religious ones? Or is it because their faith holds them back from economic progress?
