Elderly and disabled persons have a limited range of motion. With this being the case we are limited to only a few forms of exercise. The recumbent trike can be fashioned to allow a support conducive to a relaxed position for exercise.
I myself have had my back broken three times so I guess that you can understand the pain invloved with trying to keep in some kind of shape. A 20 mile ride for me is not out of the question. I had to put 30,000 miles on my design to rate it's reliability and durability. I am now working on my final proto type that I know will be a success. As you can see from the picture it is kind of retro 60s in design, allowing for that laid back outlaw look that gives you a total leg workout in comfort. I gained 1 1/2 inches in my calf and 1 3/4 inch in my thighs. My lungs are clear and my circulation is quite good. My new design will have disk breaks as well as 21 speeds and can cary 250 pounds or more.
