Did you know the best way of dieting?
My answer is eating date & a glass of milk..try it..
Reduce your caloric intake - by eating less than what your body needs and thus creating a caloric deficit, you lose weight.Increase the amount of cardiovascular exercise that you do - thus making your body expend energy and burn calories.
I should not speak because I am no dieter. I cannot diet at all. The best thing for me is to be thrown down a well and left there for a month. That would probably have dramatic results. However, there are no uncapped wells around here and the result is that I had to do something. I researched the best foods to eat and I eat them every day. Since I started that, I have lost 35 pounds. The same amount I gained when I stopped smoking a year ago. Read my hub, it might inspire me. LOL http://hubpages.com/hub/10-Best-Foods-to-Eat
If you mean a diet that will keep us healthy, fit and help in maintaining normal body weight then I may add that in addition to the required diet we have to follow the regular timing and also some outdoor physical activities like jogging, swimming, exercises are essential.
For breakfast oatmeal, fresh fruits and a glass of milk is ideal. Avoid tea/coffee and drink green tea instead, it helps to keep the blood pressure in check.
Include green and leafy vegetables, whole-grain foods, fish, poultry in lunch but eat just enough to satisfy you hunger.
Eat a light dinner, include fresh fruits, salads and high-fiber foods, fish and legumes and finish the dinner 3 hours before going to bed.
Stay away from junk, oily and fried foods and drink lot water.

Diets don't work if you don't do physical exercise. If you're really serious about losing weight the best thing you can do is change the way you eat and workout.
Wake up a little bit earlier each morning and do at least a little bit of cardio work and weightlifting (this can even be as simple as pushups). This will keep start your metabolism at a high level and keep it there for longer.
When you eat, don't eat big meals. Instead opt for lots of smaller meals filled with quality foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and meats.
First, commit yourself to actually losing weight -- don't think of it as a diet, but more of a lifestyle change. See if this hub provides any helpful suggestions. Good luck.

The first and best way to burn fat is to modify your current diet. There are three simple ways you can begin to modify: reduce calories, reduce sodium, and reduce fat. For example, by substituting a glass of water for a carbonated beverage, you can cut approximately 150 calories or more, depending on how much is consumed. Even if it were fruit juice instead of water, you would still reduce calories by approximately 50 - 100.
Excess sodium and sodium seasonings combined with fat can cause water retention. For males, it is most noticeable in the abdominal area. The thighs, hips, and buttocks are affected on females. But what causes these unwanted gains in weight and bodyfat? There are three possible reasons this can happen: (1) Eat late at night (2) Exceed your normal caloric intake (3) Lack of exercise or physical activity.
Diet and lifestyle modifications will allow your body to shed any excess fat stores, naturally strive to find fitness and give you mental clarity. As long as you keep active and moving, your body will bounce back to a prime and healthy natural weight. It is all about learning how to eat in harmony with your body's needs and finding peace in your self.
I wrote an article on this recently. I hope it can help.
