The association between mortality and antipsychotics is not well understood and may be due to a direct medication effect or the pathophysiology underlying neuropsychiatric symptoms that prompt antipsychotic use.
If you are asking if psychotropic agents cause dementia, then the answer is that we don't know for sure. Mental health patients can develop dementia for a variety of reasons.
