I don't think it would change me as a person, I know it would. As a person who works very hard and sometimes long hours to make money, I know that my personality traits are partially formed by having to work to survive. If the necessity for me to work was gone, I would be able to spend time being the person I truly want to be.
I know we all dream of what it would be like if we were to win the lottery and what we could buy with all of that money. But I have always thought about it in a different way. You see, I've been lucky enough to have made a lot of money in my life and I've also been lucky enough to be able to buy almost anything I've ever wanted. Those things don't mean as much now.
But, because I have a rather large family and some very close friends who I consider family, I have always hoped that I would win enough where I could split it with each of them and we could all retire together. Then we would all have the time to help in the areas of our community that need help. Whether it be feeding the homeless or collecting trash on the side of the freeway, I know there is something more I can be doing to help but I just don't have the time to commit to it in real life.
So yes, I would change and it would be because I really want to. Not to separate myself as some elite person who's above everyone else, but to make myself more available to help others who are less fortunate than me.
