Very good for arthritis are green leafy vegetables, juicy vegetables and fruits and their juices.

Pineapple juice contains the enzyme bromelain, which is a very strong anti-inflammatory, Fresh pineapple is obviously the best, the fruit or its juice. Canned pineapple can also be beneficiary, best when the fruit is crushed and mixed with the juice.
Vegetables helpful in the relief of arthritis include parsley, broccoli, and spinach, which all contain beta-carotene, as do carrots.
Carrots are very good, as not only do they contain beta-carotene, but also copper, another aid to arthritis relief.
Copper is also found in abundance, in ginger and apples.

Bromelain also helps with the breakdown of proteins. Incomplete breakdown of proteins (bad digestion) is commonly linked with arthritis. Bromelain also helps with clogged arteries, by breaking down plaque and fatty tissues. It can also help in the healing process of minor abrasions, and bruising.
Celery is another excellent food for arthritis sufferers. Those with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and gout, will all benefit.
Celery helps clear uric acid from painful joints, particularly helpful in cases of gout.
Celery is rich in vitamin K, which aids in the manufacture of essential bone proteins.
It is also used in aromatherapy, indeed rheumatic patients are often put on a celery only diet. It can also be taken in juice form.
Other helpful juices to arthritis, include bilberry, green barley, aloe vera, and boswellia extract.
One of the most successful treatments for arthritis and rheumatism is raw potato juice. The potato, including skin, should be thinly sliced, and left overnight in cold water. The water is then taken in the morning, first thing, on an empty stomach.
Garlic is an excellent remedy, containing anti-inflammatory properties. Can be eaten cooked or raw, as preferred.
Bananas are rich in vitamin B6, very useful to arthritis sufferers. They can be taken as a supplement to diet, or indeed, a banana only diet is extremely beneficial. For 3 to 4 days, you should eat bananas, 8 to 10 per day, and nothing else except water.
Foods to avoid for sufferers of arthritis:
It is suggested that some sufferers should avoid what are known as ' nightshade vegetables' which include aubergine, tomatoes and peppers, and potatoes. (Contrary in fact to the advice of potato juice being good, but obviously they found a difference in the potato itself, and the juices extracted in water.)
Nightshade vegetables contain solanine, and alkaloid which affects the balance of calcium. Tomatoes particularly, have been linked with increased stiffness and pain in the joints.

Eating meat has also been suggested as bad for arthritis sufferers, due to its high uric acid content. Mostly of course, bad for gout sufferers.
Doctors have concluded that there is no actual cure for arthritis, we are only able to treat inflammation and pain in the joints. This can be done with pharmaceutical remedies, or with natural remedies. The benefits of natural remedies are obviously the lack of damage done to stomach, liver, and kidneys by pharmaceutical drugs.
