Discription of thankuni leaves

Centella asiatica is a small herbaceous plant with slender runners or creepers. It commonly grows in damp and shady places all over India and Bangladesh. Leaves are round and green Flowers are small and light redish.

Juice of these hairy leaves is used to cure dysentery and bowel complaints It is used as tonic also. We can cure eczema, ulcers, liver complaints, rheumatism, piles and irregular menstruation by having the juice extract of the leaves of thankuni plant.we can also improve our memory with the extract of this plant.

For rapid propagation of this plant ,vegetative organ especially stolon(Stolon is a specialized type of horizontal shoot grown above the ground.It arises from an axillary bud near the base of the plant. The stolon differs from the typical vegetative shoot of the same plant and the horizontal stolon also has a strong tendency to form adventitious roots at the nodes.) and seeds are used.

The medicinal use of thankuni leaves


It is believed that thankuni leaves' pulp or extract can control loose motion and fluid loss .Three to four teaspoon of Thankuni leaves' juice everyday promotes lustre and brightness to the skin.

A mixture of two to three teaspoon of thankuni juice,with half cup of milk and one teaspoon of brahmi extract can boost memory and increase awareness in humans.re-vitalize the brain and nervous system, increase attention span and concentration .Premature shedding of hair can be cured with the intake of this plant's extract.

Certain scientific reports say Centella asiatica’s ability to help at wound healing, this makes it responsible for its traditional use in leprosy.(The isolated steroids from the plant have been used to treat leprosy) .Marked decrease in inflammatory reaction and myofibroblast production. can be seen by the use of this plant ,opium detoxification.is found to be done by the use of this plant extract

It promotes healing of wounds. It drastically increases the collagen content of cell layer fibronectin,moreover its is anti-inflammatory,and also stimulates wound healing .
