Does Your Saliva Cure Cancer?
What if your saliva was the missing key to curing your cancer?
Is this a cure for cancer?
This article isn't being written to prove saliva can cure cancer, but to provide some food for thought because saliva just might be an essential key in more ways than one.
A scientist named Roger - he used only his first name - wrote to me on one of my hub pages to tell me he had been studying cancer since 1979 and found a definite link between how much saliva a person produces and their risk of cancer. Then he made an even more profound statement:
"We have come to the conclusion that the tell-tale marker for regression is salivation or how wet the mouth is."
In other words, as a person is able to produce more saliva, it means their cancer is also going away, according to Roger's findings at least.
It would have been easy to dismiss a claim like that, except he followed it up by saying that the enzyme amylase wipes out hCG and that "hCG is also the primary cell-wall component of cancer cells."
How cow! If those two statements are correct, the implications are so huge they could be tumor shattering. So let's take a look at some more evidence to see if we can connect some dots in support of Roger's conclusions.
But first, who is Roger?
Through the miracle of Google searching I found a few articles by or about "Roger Scott Cathey" that spoke about the very same information as he presented to me. This article is based in part on those articles as well as his hub page comment. You might also Google his name and hCG if you want to find out more.
The Curcumin Connection
A few months ago, a study came out regarding curcumin. Some scientists found out that it could shrink cancers in head and neck cancers if the tongue were coated with curcumin. This was done by giving patients two 500 mg curcumin tablets to chew. The researchers concluded that the interaction of saliva with the curcumin had a beneficial effect because the inflammatory byproducts of the cancer were reduced in the saliva. The pathway that drives cancer was also curtailed.
Curcumin is one of many pungent herbs that produce increased saliva.
The Habaneros, Ginger and Garlic Connection
As you might already know, my own recipe also produces lots of saliva and has reversed cancer in myself and for other people who were otherwise doomed. I've emphasized for four years that it is important to chew my recipe because it's beneficial to have the saliva mix with the hot stuff.
But when I made the recommendation, until the curcumin research had come out, I did so chiefly to help avoid burning in the stomach and intestines. But perhaps, there is more to it than that?
According to Roger, the amylase in the saliva would actually be a significant part of attacking the cancer itself.
Amylase And Your Blood Plasma
In addition to having amylase in your saliva, it is also present both in your blood plasma and is made by your pancreas. We can understand its use by the pancreas to help break down starches. But why would it be in the blood plasma? It would make sense to conclude that amylase in your blood plasma has a different role.
Could that role be as Roger Scott Cathey has proposed? That is, is it in our blood to help shut down cancer activity when needed? Cathey says:
"Cancer cells also exude hCG systemically and hCG systemically inhibits the circulating protease or protein digesting enzymes of the immune system."
What he is saying here is that hCG blocks the enzymes (protease) that dissolve the fibrin that protects cancer activity and allows the cancer to feed itself.
But Cathey proposes that the amylase inactivates the hCG! In a sense, the amylase is like a great play in football where a blocking back is able to seal off a linebacker which allows the running back to race into the secondary at full speed. In this case, the amylase is the blocking back. And the running pack is the protein enzyme. And the linebacker is the hCG.
But if the blocking back (amylase) wasn't there, then the linebacker (hCG) could crunch the running back (protein enzyme.) That would mean the cancer could grow and grow.
Roger says that any food that helps to produce saliva has a positive effect on cancer or preventing it:
"Any dietary which stimulates the salivary activity of the individual, we believe, has relevance in the control of any expression of cancer."
He also says that sprouted barley contains high levels of amylase. So sprouting barley would be a way to increase one's amylase levels.
I wonder of chewing gum sweetened with either xylitol or stevia would also have a positive effect. Pesonally, I would stay far away from gum with sugar or artificial sweeteners, nor do I know if gum would be an effective way to increase amylase.
Many spices, herbs or peppers will produce extra amounts of saliva. So based on Roger's comments, any of those could be effective in helping to cure cancer. Things like oranges and lemons might also help to produce saliva.
Many Drugs Cause Dry Mouth!
Dry mouth sounds like an nagging but not too serious condition. If you have heard commercials for drugs, the "voice over" might mention dry mouth as a side effect. But the connection between dry mouth and cancer puts a whole new light on this seemingly non important condition.
If Cathey is correct about the close relationship between dry mouth and cancer, and I believe he is, then it would be wise to avoid any drug that can makes your mouth dry. That would mean just about all of them.
I personally believe that every single drug contributes to cancer simply because they have a negative effect on maintaining a balanced metabolism. An unbalanced metabolism is a feeding ground for cancer growth. But now that there may very well be a direct connection between dry mouth and cancer formations, we have another compelling reason to avoid drugs.
To give you an idea of how common it is for drugs to cause dry mouth, consider this quote from medicinenet.com:
Side effect of certain medications. Dry mouth is a common side effect of many prescription and nonprescription drugs, including drugs used to treat depression, anxiety, pain, allergies, and colds (antihistamines and decongestants), obesity, acne, epilepsy, acne, obesity, hypertension (diuretics), diarrhea, nausea, psychotic disorders, urinary incontinence, asthma, and Parkinson's disease. Dry mouth can also a side effect of muscle relaxants and sedatives.
Exciting If Correct
What makes this apparent discovery so tremendous is that simply having this knowledge makes it easy to course correct and to have an idea about whether we are helping to create cancer or if we are helping to reverse any microscopic cancer (or maybe even a big cancer) we might have created in our body.
If you're waking up with a dry mouth, maybe that means you should start increasing your saliva production. Whether it means growing some barley sprouts, or swishing some spices mixed with water in our mouth, or eating citrus, these might be excellent ways to help defeat cancer before we even know we have it.
A Word About Sjolgren's Syndrome
Sjolgren's Syndrome is an autoimmune disease that destroys the salivary glands and tear ducts. In a case like that, resolving the problem would be more complex. Simply attempting to increase saliva production might not work.
