Do something ! Yes ,do something and do it right now ! Be the hero !  Either your own hero  of for someone else  .  In each and every situation in life  there should be someone  thats willing to take the first steps toward a positive and permanent action .  Counciling ,  get them [or yourself  ]  there and do it soon .    Those who suffer from this desease are profoundly susceptable to  many other ailments , either side affects or those directly related to depression .  Thoughts of suicide !  Anxieties of many kinds ,  panic attacks , isolation , .....on and on .      We all are perhaps more apt to think " Oh they're in a pissy mood today ",or  " why do they spend soo much time alone "?.....What if ,   just what if YOU , could keep a suicide or perhaps even something like these school shootings from happening !  Could it be  you ....... the hero we need to step forward ?

Sometimes all it takes is a phone call.  If you think of someone call or send them a note. Snail mail tells a person you really care, but email works too.
If you are young get someone older and wiser involved with you for an intervention. Don't try to do it alone.
      The key is to act.
      Excellent forum!

This is such an important issue, ahorseback. I'm so glad that you brought it up. Especially at this time when we are in the Christmas season. I heard yesterday that in my area one in four people live by themselves; it can be a dangerous time for those who feel alone. It's so easy to seek help and learn to enjoy life to the full again with that help.

Just be there! Be a friend! Sometimes you don't have to do anything but listen, and listen with your heart.
