I applied for financial aid from a major health sciences university, and got it for a year. That means I can utilize any of the services at the university that takes the financial aid(i am talking about patient financial aid, not student aid. This include psychiatric care that isn't affordable to me or available in my town. I am not using the system, as patients are needed who are willing to be treated by students(under the supervision of real doctors of course. Everybody wins.
I hope it works for you. I recently began going to a clinic where they do that - use students or interns to do the work while a doctor watches over - and had a small cancer cut out. It ended up costing will over $1,000 and I could have had it done cheaper at my regular doc-in-a-box. Hopefully you will do better.
