What are some good new ways to curb obesity in the U.S.?
The US could do what certain other countries do -- purposely undercount undesirable data points when compiling statistics, LOL.
Obesity is a problem in most developed countries, and even in countries commonly considered to be developing. Mexico is currently the world leader the obesity.
One problem is the food supply. It's simply cheaper to eat factory-produced foods (which developed countries manufacture in abundance) than it is to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Prices of fresh foods are ridiculous in some parts of North America, especially Canada. No wonder people eat the just-add-water stuff that comes in a box. You'd have a healthier diet if you lived in parts of Africa or South America where the pricing is opposite. Fresh foods are dirt cheap, and processed foods are an expensive luxury.
If you can't afford real food, all you can do is eat less of the fake food your budget allows you to buy.
