In Minnesota H1N1 is wide spread. The t.v. stations & large hospitals/clinics are asking those who have flu symptoms not to go into the ER or clinics, for risk of spreading it to others. On 9/20 my son had flu like symptoms & they were on again/off again until this weekend, when they escalated. When I called for an appointment, they didn't want to see him until I said he might have strep & he'd been sick on and off for almost 2 weeks.
Doctor believes he has influenza, but its past 72 hours so they can't test for it. He has strep & possibly pneumonia - waiting for radiologist to call back.
I encourage you, don't be an idiot like me, take your kids/yourself in if you have flu symptoms & make them run the tests for influenza.
The doctor's office made him wear a mask the entire time he was there (that was good).
