I have been facing the problem of pimples for a couple of years. Although I have tried a few of the products available in the market but they don’t seem to be as good as they can get. These things really give you a bad look and make you stand out in the crowd for no reason. Can anyone suggest me a good product to help me get better results?

If you'd like to get creative (and save money!) check out these homemade acne remedies.  If you want the convenience of a store-bought product, Proactiv has worked for many people I know.

The best thing I know of out there is continuously clear from Seriesse International.  It is affordable and I've heard a lot of great testimonials about it.  Contact me at www.myspace.com/danandkatewideman or go to my hubpage.  I'll tell you more about it.  It was made by Sylvester Stallone's wife Jennifer.  She had terrible acne, and almost lost her modeling career because of it.

Hi Teri.  I have dealt with pimples for years. I am told that it is not obvious that I suffer with this because my skin is so clear.  I use a combination of two things, Neutrogena Acne Wash and Dr Tichenors antiseptic mouthwash.  I have had wonderful results with these two.  I first place a pump of the Neutrogena in my palm, then I pour a half teaspoon of the Dr Tichenors in with the Neutrogena.  I then lather the two together and wash my face.  (wet your face first with lukewarm water) After washing really good, I then rinse until my face is completely clear of the two.  Rinse until you are sure you have washed all of the ingredients off your face. You don't want to leave any on because these two are strong.

I have done this for years and like I said, I have no sign of acne breakouts.  Try this and see and good luck!

    Teri,

A high sugar diet and a diet high in processed foods can make acne worse for those who are prone to it. How much of what you eat comes from restaurants, a can or a box? How much soda or other sugary foods do you eat? Paying attention to your diet by eating healthy fresh foods will like reduce or eliminate your problem.

For the best results, I'd use a two pronged approach: internal and external.

Tea tree oil is excellent for getting rid of acne topically. But it's important to realize that acne comes from the gut. The acne will often keep coming back until that is addressed.

Typically the problem was created by antibiotics. Even antibiotics that were taken decades earlier. So it's not your fault. :-)

The antibiotics kill the friendly bacteria in our digestive tract which allows yeast to grow. When the yeast flourishes, it grows roots, poking holes in the intestinal wall.

This enables food particles to pass through partially undigested. That freaks out your immune system. Acne is merely your body's attempt to get rid of the slurry.

So here's what I would do. I'd take a combination of olive leaf extract, and caprylic acid to get the yeast under control. I'd also repopulate the friendly bacteria not with a cheap one but with one that contains several different strains of friendly bacteria, such as PB-8 or Primal Defense.

The holes made by the yeast also needs to be repaired. I've found the amino acid called glutamine to be effective. In two months or less, the holes seem to be patched up when 5 grams are taken twice a day.

Sometimes those with acne also suffer from bloating when they eat. For that I'd take a good multi-enzyme to help the digestive tract get back on track.

All those things can be obtained at any health food store. Good luck!

    The best to you.

    Kelley
