In order to lose weight, you must eat healthily and burn calories by doing exercise that raises your heart rate on a regular basis. Some types of yoga, such as Iyengar, in which yoga poses are held for several minutes with a resting period between each pose, will build muscles and improve your posture, but will not give you the cardiovascular workout you need to lose weight.

@saroj23 .... I am 48 years old and working hard to not only flatten my stomach but just build muscle overall and you're right. Yoga is great! Im not totally familiar with all the different types yet, but the practice itself is a muscle-builder. But without losing the fat that's sitting on top of the muscle you won't see your muscle as clearly. So I do both. I run and practice yoga. The combination - along with getting rid of eating too many fatty foods - seems to be working great. Almost ready for my belly ring!

Right so the summer is approaching and I'm trying to get rid of this damn belly. I'm actually slim but the belly fat is stubborn...Does anybody have any success stories they can share on how to remove belly fat?Cheers...
