Unusual Phobias

Most people have phobias, most of which make sense, i.e. fear of heights or snakes.  However some seem to serve no practical use.  I remember watching a TV documentary about a man who was terrified of oranges.  Are there any really odd phobias out there?

I am petrified of birds.  It doesn't bother me to see them flying outside as long as they don't come close to me.  In fact, I would never visit someone who had a pet bird even if it was in a cage.  I've had this phobia all my life and no one I know seems to know why.

I think this may be due to the fear of having something flying about our faces.  The fear of anything which flies, and has the ability to attack from the air I think is quite common.  Alfred Hitchcock didn't do much to help with this fear.

I would recommend not giving serious answers to this op.

As it is a serious question, I don't see why serious answers should not be given
