When You Are Healthy Again (poem)

Attitude important for recovery

Our Mental Health Can Affect Our Physical Recovery
Our Mental Health Can Affect Our Physical Recovery

Someday soon, the sky will be blue again,

Wide open skies, as far as we can see,

When birds sing sweetly, from high in the trees again,

Life wll be good once more, you will see.

Dark skies happen, and sometimes they´re black,

that makes us feel the pressure of darkness,

Heavy, hot, dark pressure, with no going back.

Like a harness, holding us tight in its grasp.

But one day the harness can hold tight no more,

It stretches and pulls and finally.... snaps!

Our bodies no longer will feel bruised and sore.

We´ll start to feel free.... we´ll be out of its grasp.

Someday soon, the sky will be blue again,

And under blue skies, we´ll walk to the beach,

The breeze blows our hair, and we feel no strain,

And happiness will not seem so out of reach.

Your friends will be waiting to welcome you back,

As l lead you along the sea shore.

Get your feet wet, wriggle your toes, feel things that you have lacked.

Then let yourself go...feel it some more..

The waves will be rippling over your feet,

And the sun will be warm on your back,

The wide open skies, so blue and so bright,

You´ll finally feel everything is alright.

One day ,dear friend, blue skies will await you.

This was so beautiful and awe inspiring....

I cannot wait for that day to come,

When all of our sick loved ones will be sick no more.

when death will be swallowed up forever,

We can all wait for them along the shore! :-)

Lovely poem full of feelings. I can empathize with the feeling for wellness, but your poem came home on a different note. This is the first summer I did not make it to the coast! at least once. I will have to go soon.

Just simply beautiful, I can read this as a loved one to get well, or when we see them again on the other side.

How did I miss this one? I agree with all above comments. Life is precious, we must make good use of the time we have been given. Some of us pass through this life unscathed until very old age, others not so lucky fight for survival at an early age.

I to pray that death can be swallowed up so we can all walk in continual sunshine, under blue skies and feel that lapping of gentle waves and sand mingle together between our toes. I pray your friend is recovering, peace and blessings to you my friend.

Having said that l am always thrilled when you read my efforts and leave lovely comments.

Thank you.

So good to see you here, my friend. You are the optomistic one, always writing positive things.

It´s a nice change for you to be able to enjoy my efforts, instead of my sad, soulful writings.

Thank you so much.

Oh Dim - I feel your hurt and sense your fear. The only thing missing with being friends on Hubpages is the inability to actually "be with" friends. I would reach out to you and hold you in my arms to give you comfort right now. I hope your friend is better. Your poem is so touching and beautiful. Sending you hugs, dear Dim.

What a beautiful comment, vocalcoach, I can feel the warmth coming through your words. That will have to make do for a physical hug and I thank you again for being so supportive

There´s slow improvement with my friend, so I guess that´s better than no improvement at all.
