You can also make fresh juice instead of buying. Which ever you prefer they both work the same way.To make fresh blueberry pomegranate juice, remove the pomegranate seeds from the fruit. Soak in water to remove the white membrane. Then use a blender to break apart the seeds. Place the mixture in a strainer, and press with a spoon to separate the juice from the seeds. Then crush the blueberries, and strain before adding to the pomegranate juice.
FILTERED WATER - You can use bottled water, but I find that filtered water goes a longer way and costs less. You will notice once you start drinking this ice tea you will be making it everyday, which means you will be using a lot of water.
LEMON JUICE - Lemon is an inexpensive, easily available citrus fruit, popular for its culinary and medicinal uses. It is used to prepare a variety of food recipes and beverages like lemonade and lemon-flavored drinks. It is also used for garnishing. Lemon juice consists of about 5% citric acid that gives a tarty taste. Lemon is a rich source of vitamin C. It also contains vitamin B, riboflavin and minerals like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium as well as proteins and carbohydrates.
Lemons benefits are good for the stomach, excellent for skin care, aids in dental care, fights throat infections, good for weight loss, controls high blood pressure, assists in respiratory problems, reduces fever, acts as a blood purifier, flushes toxins out of the body, is good for rheumatism and arthritis.
STEVIA - Stevia is a herb plant native to South America. It is the replacement for sugar because it is 100% natural, almost 300% sweeter, no calories, and does not cause an increase in blood sugar levels. The leaves of the stevia plant have 30-45 times the sweetness of sugar. The aqueous extract of the leaves, and the purified steviosides are used as sweeteners. Current research has evaluated its effects on obesity and hypertension. Stevia has a negligible effect on blood glucose, and may even enhance glucose tolerance; which it maybe useful as a natural sweetener for diabetics and other carbohydrate-controlled diets.
Recipe For Ice Tea
In a ceramic 4 cup teapot put 2 oolong tea bags, 1 green, 1 white, 1 black, and 1 red. Then add steaming water (not boiling) right up to the top of the tea pot. Put lid on, then let steep overnight. Best to make this up just before bedtime.
First thing in the morning when you wake up make the ice tea in a 2 quart glass juice pitcher or any glass pitcher will do. Pour the steep tea in the pitcher, make sure you get every drop. Next put 3 packets of stevia and stir well, stevia takes a little longer to dissolve. Then add 2 1/4 cups of filtered water, stir again. Next add 1 1/4 cup of blueberry pomegranate juice, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, stir one more time. Put in fridge till cold. It is ready to drink. I don't put ice in the glass, instead I take a freezer mug if you want the drink to be really cold. Ice will dilute the tea so you will not get the full strength of this ice tea.
When you first start drinking this ice tea start with 1 glass, drinking it with your meal 3 times a day for 2 weeks. It will make you get rid of the toxins in your body first. if you find you have to go to the washroom, then that is a good thing. This tea mixture will make you go regular after the toxins are out of your system. After the 2 weeks you can drink more of this ice tea without eating, but always remember to take this ice tea with every meal. Or if you go out to eat, then when you get home drink the ice tea then. You will also find that if you overeat and feel stuffed, then this ice tea will let you know. I have lost 43 lbs with this ice tea. And I drink this everyday, with my meals and without. I even enjoy drinking this on a very hot day, just because it tastes so good. Also you will find that you don't get many cravings, and you will find that if you drink a lot of diet pop drinks, this ice tea will make you not want to drink them as much as you do now. I will still have the odd diet drink when I go out, but when I get home, out comes my ice tea, I find it quenches my thirst.
