how to overcome laziness

LIFE goes on and The world won't wait for you ...

LIFE goes on and the world won't wait for you...

Imagine living your whole life like one of those fat seals (which look like a huge sofa ) you see on the National Geographic channel :Sitting on your butt, watching TV for hours not knowing what is really happening around you .What do you think will happen. Just like those tiger seals, you would expand ie gain weight, pile fats all over your body, and might end up with serious heart problems.

Well, we all have a time when we wish we could just stay and remain in our seats for ever having food and drinks brought up to us on demand. Yet we can't live our lives sitting on our butts. Yet, how can we really overcome laziness?

Laziness, is a  serious problem that our society grapples with. It is not a disease yet an attitude problem that restricts people from moving on with their life , and experiencing the world around them .Some resources say this issue haa to be dealt with.

So how can we overcome lazinees?

First of all, you have to remember that laziness is an attitude problem .Thus, the first step to overcome it is to accept the fact that you have a problem which has to be dealt with as soon as possible (rule#1) .In this stage, your are expected to grapple with your fears i.e. face your demons and try to overcome them. It would be much easier if you had someone by your side such as a close family member, a friend or even a person who has passed the same stage. It is never wrong to admit your mistakes and try to fix them. The shame is when you know your life course is wrong and you do nothing to change it.

(Rule#2) Once you have faced your demons, and accepted the fact that you and I face a problem that prevents us from enjoying life at its extremes, you can start working on it. Start by dividing a piece of paper into half and writing on a piece of paper what good or bad reasons drive you into being lazy and not going out and enjoying society.

(Rule#3) On the other side, start writing all the things you are missing in life, such as lacking a social life, going out with friends, eating healthy food, and meeting lots of people. Think deeply on how does this really affect your life, emotional state and hope do you wish to change.

Now count the ideas you wrote down on both columns and think thoughtfully about what would life mean to you if you could go out and enjoy or how life would turn out five years from now when you have a heart attack or if you die alone in you share in front of the TV without anyone knowing that you died cause you barely know any people.

(Rule#4) You should work on adapting a new life style such as waking up early at five or six at most cases and having a healthy breakfast like going on jogging or to the market to shop for healthy food. You can meet lots of cool and helpful people whom you can relate to. At the first night of your new life, you are going to sit in bed thinking of what you have achieved for now. In your head, draw pictures of how you are going to change your life and others. Fix your alarm to six or five and decide what new activities you are planning to do on the next day. Try as much as possible to walk to work or take the stairs instead of the elevator . I can assure you that the first week or month won't be easy. You might feel exhausted tired, and sweaty. Don't let that stop you from enjoying, and every time you sweat know that this is another sign that you are doing great and you are one step closer to achieve your goal.

(Rule#5) Don't let anyone's ridicule or  stop you. Turn all that negative force people give you into positive ones by telling yourself:" Those idiots don't know what i am working on! I won't let anyone stop me! No one can.!"If it makes you feel better you can play a game with yourself. You can imagine those people who annoy you in your head. Use your imagination to make funny faces out of them, u can imagine them with an over sized nose a huge zit on the top of their nose (like Mt. Helen).Or even imagine a huge truck would fall on them from the sky. I've learn this method from a book "Awaken the Giant Within" by Anthony Robbins.

You can read books in the park which might help you overcome your problems and inspire you not to get rid of bad habits such as laziness but also lose weight or change your life into a better one by enhancing your self-confidence.

I've passed through the same stage and i was almost ready to give up and say: “Ok ! I’ve had enough failure in my life! I am officially a LOSER!"

Yet, God hasn't created anyone of us to be losers, and that is what my friend and close sociology teacher once told me. That day she gave me a wonderful book that changed by life and I’d like to give it to you too. The book will be your guide through the whole procedure of changing accepting and never going back to the same habits. Believe me when i say it Anthony Robbins's book changed my life and will change your.

You have to believe in yourself, and make every silly or degrading comment you get because of your size or habit an inspiration to work hard and grasp the best of this life. Life is short and you have to enjoy it at its extremes. Don't let anything stand in your way. Yet, the most important thing is to never let you fall into the same mistake twice

Uriel I am not lazy but I feel lethargic all the time and due to this fatigue and lethargy I can not work positively and energetically like I did before. I don't know what should I do!

Uriel 5 years ago from Lebanon Author

gulnazahmad, i am not a doctor but perhaps you need to check out with yours. A friend of mine had a similar case, for instance she wouldn't have enough energy to study, she would stay all day at home feeling so tired and sleepy. Due to our nagging she went to the College hospital, had a couple of tests taken and the doctor called it some vitamin deficiency. Perhaps there is something that your body is trying to tell you :D Maybe a change of diet might help, yet again i am no doctor so i don't really know much. And i don't understand these stuff. Check with your doctor or a professional nutritionist perhaps they can help. Good LUCK and i do hope you get to feel better!!

Best regards,

Uriel

Dear Ravinder naik, do you happen to love some sort genre of music that makes you want to dance or move or is just fit for you? Well you can always have your favorite music on a CD and let the DVD/CD player play your favorite playlist while jogging. For me, sometimes it is really hard to go to the gym so i have my music burned on a CD and i just static jog in my room with the CD player and the speakers on. You can always ask a friend to join you in your static jogging or even take your jogging outdoors. For instance an mp3 or an ipod will do the job. But if you are a shy person like myself and you enjoy staying indoors while exercising to avoid people's attention i suggest you find a spacious area to do some static jogging, sit up, and some push ups if you can [ honestly i can't do that myself :( ] btw an exercise ball will be useful in your exercise , it is useful when it comes to bending and stretching. For me my music keeps me going, for a rock/metal playlist i suggest: Skillet [hero, awake, whispers in the dark, comatose, the last night, collide, monsters ...] bullet for my valentine [ hand of blood, tears don't fall, cries in vain , scream aim and fire, eye of the storm...] you can also try flyleaf[ im so sick, breathe today..] lacuna coil [swamped, heaven's a lie...] thousand foot krutch [ rockfist..] linkin part [ the catalyst, whatve done, numb...] 30seconds to mars[ hurricane, beautiful lie, from yesterday, capricorn...]children of bodom [Rebel yell, and anything from their new album], also i suggest some anime songs with very fast beat such as [fairy tail's main theme, treachery& invasion by shiro sagisu, number One by hazel fernandez, naruto's main theme, guilty sky by Kosaka Riyu, Loituma the bassHunter remix [found on Beemp3.com, witch& sacrifice: Tsubasa chronicles Sound tracks

I also suggest black veiled brides [we stitch these wounds], blind guardians [Voice in the dark, sacred world]

deathstars [ arclight, chetograd, death dies hard...]

Nightwish [Bye bye beautiful, wish i had an angel,moondance,wishmaster...]

dope stars in. [vyperpunk, can you imagine, lost...]

evanescence [bring me to life, scars of life, call me when you're sober, my sacrifice...]

Anyway Ravinder naik, just make a playlist of songs that make you want to dance or move and go with the flow :D I hope the songs i suggested help, but if your choice in music is different, regardless to what others think choose your playlist and enjoy it. Personally what keeps me jogging no matter how much i am sweating and MAKING noise is my music, the louder the better. As long as you are comfortable don't care about what other people say :D

Tell me how is goes!

Wishing you all the best,

One more thing don't forget we are all going through this together so no need to feel ashamed, i for once understand :)

Best regards

uriel

Is procrastination the same as laziness. I fall guilty of making the same mistake twice, well more than that. This as a eye opener, sometimes my laziness does coincide with the fear of failure and rejection. The thoughts of what's the use, with this I head change. Thank you.

plzzzzz tell me idealogy how can i eleminate the laziness.... plzzzz tell me a proper way to get a marvelous...........

keep on moving, simply put, if you are cooking, try adding some music and swaying, dance, hop , go do some gardening, you can always take the dog for a walk, or even simply go to the park and walk . start Simple and work your way up, find something that makes you feel good. if you like to exercise alone, so be it, make some space at home and start with minor exercises, sit ups, static bike, or even simple stretches. Whatever gets you moving is a great step forward. And as a last thought never feel that you are not making progress. Keep on pushing.

Jenubouka, SO long :( i do procrastinate a lot! and i always end up in the same problem. Sometimes i need to write "stuff" down on paper to remember where i went wrong :) but we are human we can learn and will learn at some point or another. We can always try to move forward and if we fail we can always seek to know where we went wrong. FORWARD IT IS!
