Natural Cure For Diabetes Using Lime And Chicken

Lime

Natural cure for diabetes.

Apparently there is no known cure for diabetes, although it is treatable by insulin injection. However, in this day and age with the internet, we do come across claims of the extraordinary….natural cure for diabetes. We may never know for sure the authenticity of such claims unless we have personally benefited from them.

Diabetes is a common disease, and is the 6th most significant cause of death in the United States. According to Wikipedia, as of 2000 at least 171 million people worldwide suffered from diabetes, or 2.8% of the population. Now it’s 10 years past, and I’m sure the figures are higher. Type 2 diabetes is by far the most common, affecting 90 to 95% of the U.S. diabetes population.

Diabetes is a condition which the body is unable to create or make correct use of insulin, resulting in having high blood sugar. And insulin is a hormone that is needed to transform glucose into energy. The current available treatment is insulin injection.

Natural cure for diabetes using lime.

I received an email claiming that lime can cure diabetes. Honestly, I’m a bit skeptical of its claim; but it would be a great loss and disservice to those who are suffering from diabetes if this claim is true and I failed to share it. Before divulging more details of this natural cure for diabetes by using lime, let us search for more information on lime, and see what it has to offer.

Lime contains vitamins A, B, C, G and the rare vitamin P. Vitamin P or more often called bioflavonoids or simply flavonoids, enhance the absorption of Vitamin C. For this reason they are usually taken together. Bioflavonoids and Vitamin C together help to stregthen the thin walls of the capillaries preventing bleeding or bruising. They have antibacterial properties, stimulate bile production, promote circulation, reduce blood cholesterol, prevent allergies, asthma, and even cataracts. Bioflavonoids are antioxidants, anticarcinogenics, antibiotics, and detoxifiers. These can provide healing properties for peptic and oral ulcers. The detoxifiers can help relieve the symptoms of gout.

Lime is a citrus fruit. Lime also contains citric acid, natural sugar, calcium and phosphorus. It contains by far more vitamin C than lemon. Lime is a natural antibiotic.

Since this article is not specifically on lime, let’s just list down what lime can cure, prevent or contribute to our well-being:

Scurvy, anemia, intestinal disorder, cough and cold, gastric problem, high blood pressure, fevers, constipation, typhoid, bronchitis, sore throat, dehydration, bleeding gums and sores in the mouth, retard aging, rejuvenate the skin, kidney cleanse, arthritis, rheumatism, prostrate and colon cancer, cholera, arteriosclerosis, fatigue, heart disease, and DIABETES.

Not a guarantee, try it. You have nothing to lose.

It is quite obvious that lime has great potency to prevent or cure many ailments. Whether this particular recipe is effective or not, you will never know until you try it. Also please bear in mind that many natural cures have positive effect only on certain people. I don’t know why, but from my personal experience, this is true.

So may I just remind you to take this recipe with “a pinch of salt” (or for this instance, a pinch of lime!). One thing for sure, there won’t be any adverse effect taking a few lemons, if this recipe doesn‘t work on you. Just treat it as an exotic chicken soup, certainly rejuvenating and refreshing!

Please let me know in the comments below if you found this recipe effective. Then I will certainly feel more comfortable, and elated, having done the right thing publishing it.

The lime-chicken recipe to cure diabetes.

Here's the Recipe :

  • 1 chicken (without head and tail).
  • 4 limes, cut into halves.
  • Add some salt.
  • Add water enough to cover the chicken.
  • Steam until chicken is soft.
  • Drink the soup.

Repeat a few times.

Every time I turn around a class action lawsuit exists for a drug that is maiming people. When oh when are we going to realize that food is for good health, keeping us healthy, and healing us. While pharmaceuticals are for profit.

I'd try anything natural before I went to a drug. And of course prevention is the key. Something we just can't seem to grasp. I won't run for a cure for cancer - but I would run to help prevent cancer. Sigh!

Thanks for the "food for thought" - I'll bookmark.

Hi BkCreative,

Yes it is important that we keep ourselves healthy at all times.....Exercise and healthy diet. But I think we can "pamper" ourselves once in a while with our favorite food that may not be so healthy. Sometimes it's good to let our immune systems fight bad food. It is a form of exercise for them too!

Thanks for reading, commenting and rating.

Those lime fruits look like my calamansi. If they are of the same variety, looks like I could try my calamansi juice? I can't find lime. This is very welcome information for diabetics like me. Thank you.

Hi Lita,

I think calamansi belongs to the same family. You may try using it; no harm trying!

Two comments - one up, one down.

Up: I plan to try the limed chicken. First of all it sounds good. Second, it can "do no harm" which is the first law of doctors (or should be, at any rate).

There must be something in the peel that produces the effect. I wonder if lemons or oranges work just as well, but perhaps not since the three of them have entirely different properties.

Now the down side. Limes cannot cure scurvy, only lemons do that. The British navy learned that to their detriment when the captains bought limes for their sailors because they were cheaper (the English sailors are still called "limeys" from this fact.) Lemons have molicules that spin backwards, as does a certain species of evergreen in Canada whose needles boiled into a tea is used to treat scurvy. Green onions work better than either of them, though, or so the research by the Scandinavian Navy found.

Thanks for the info. I've added this one to my collection.

do we include the internal organs in boiling the chicken - bile, liver, gizzard, intestines, etc. How about the feathers? I think it's safe to be specific about it to attain effectivity in the healing process. Many thanks and God Bless!

Am really waiting for a reply to my ealrier query whether we also use or boil the internal organs together with the chicken.....

hope somebody could answer this...... thanks

Hi rosebud,

Sorry for the late reply.

You only boil the Chicken meat with the bones. Discard the others.

do we remove the skin...when boiling...or have it boiled together with the flesh but discard before eating the meat?

Just to be sure it turns out right..

Good Guy profile image

Good Guy 6 years ago from Malaysia Author

Rosebud,

You boil the chicken with the skin. You can also eat the skin if you want to, but for health reason you may choose to discard it.

rosebud 6 years ago

Just read somewhere there's no need to cook the whole chicken.. Pork, shrimps have the same effect as long as they are cooked with lime, and very little or no salt at all. So i guess the healing ingredient here is really the lime..i guess this is the same as calamansi..

Good Guy profile image

Good Guy 6 years ago from Malaysia Author

Rosebud,

Just follow the recipe as described, if you have the faith in it. If it doesn't work then you can try the others.

I already read it in full now. So you're the writer of the whole article ... and the many other health tips such as cure for gout, etc.

This is very beneficial to all and well, thanks for doing this..

rosebud 6 years ago

cooked only the breast portion of the chicken without skin with a few small "calamansi" and it took me several days to be able to finish it.

Just a sip at a time, cuz the taste is quite hard to bear. But am planning to cook one whole chicken next time following the recipe. Hopefully i will tolerate the taste more easily by then..

Rosebud,

Hope it is effective for you. If it is not too palatable, take a deep breath and then take a gulp of the soup, each time.

Good Guy profile image

Good Guy 6 years ago from Malaysia Author

Hi Ayuza,

It is not specifically stated in the recipe; but from my experience it must be the soup that has the medicinal value. However, there is no harm consuming the meat as well.

My diabetes started 3 yrs ago and the highest glucose level is only 190. Almost daily the reading is from 80- 130 only. Yet o have tendency to have glaucoma though my vision is still very good. a sore on one foot does not heal and one thumb in the hand has been swollen for more than a year. Yet my diabetes specialist is very happy with my condition everytime i submit for check-up because based on blood chem results, everything is normal -blood pressure, cholesterol and even sugar.

Any idea on herbal medicines for my supposed weak eye and skin disorders?

Good Guy profile image

Good Guy 6 years ago from Malaysia Author

Hi Nan,

"What is the magic for healing?"

Magic? I think, for natural healing you would need at least the following:

1. Faith and belief in the treatment.

2. Perseverance to try and try.

3. Compatibility of your body constituents with the treatment.

4. Maybe with a bit of luck.

Peter Styles 6 years ago

How do you steam this? (Steam 4 limes (green lime) together with 1 chicken without head and tail), cut limes into half, add some salts and water level just to

cover the chicken)

Good Guy profile image

Good Guy 6 years ago from Malaysia Author

Hi Peter,

It's just like steaming any meat or fish. Use a steamer. Failing which, use a big frying pan half filled with water, place a base on it and place the chicken (which should be in a separate bowl or plate) on the base;cover the pan with a pan cover.

For us locals, we use a Chinese wok, half filled with water, and follow the same procedure.

If you are still confused please ask someone near you who can show you how to steam. Or maybe just search through youtube recipe sites for steaming recipes.

Peter Styles 6 years ago

I'm a little confuse because steam should be with out water but the Recipe below said:" Add some salt and water level just to cover the chicken...." So that just like to boil the chicken???? THANKS

Steam 4 limes (green lime) together with 1 chicken without head and tail), cut limes into half, add some salts and water level just to cover the chicken. I was given this 4 times during my stay in Malaysia.

The taste was not very good but i still took it in hope of curing the disease. I took me 1 week to finish a chicken (1 recipe), sometimes i drank it as a soup or for supper.

Good Guy profile image

Good Guy 6 years ago from Malaysia Author

Hi Peter,

We are not boiling with water, but steaming the chicken which is immersed with sufficient water to get the soup. Or put it another way, you are making chicken soup by steaming.

As you are not familiar with Asian cooking, you may not understand. Most Chinese herbal preparations are by steaming, and not by direct boiling. This way, you get the pure concentrated essence of the ingredients.

Can you use slow cooker?

Just thought I put the steaming process into a bit of perspective--it may be referred as to "double boiling" the soup. There are so much ambiguities though--could you clarify some of my concerns. How long do you need to cook the soup and how much to take each time--one table spoon a day or one bowl? I am asking as since the soup doesn't seem to be very soupy and in order to last the consumption for a week--you really can't be taking it every day as a soup (like a bowl of soup for this instance for dinner and supper). Unless the above recipe is only for one potion/one consumption? Otherwise, would you be able to advise per the recipe above (4 lime + 1 chicken), how many potions should the soup be consumed? And if the soup was to be taken over in 1 week period--how do you store the soup; in a freezer or fridge? I really do wish to know as I am attempting to give this a try but need the above clarified.

Thanks much!

Good Guy profile image

Good Guy 5 years ago from Malaysia Author

Hi Ollyieollie,

I must remind you that the recipe came through email. I am not the creator of the recipe.

Steaming and cooking in the slow cooker is different. Steaming you retain the essence of the chicken. Slow cooker may be more convenient, but I think you might not achieve the same effect as steaming. Again,I may be wrong.

As for consumption, the quantity could be gauged, as we are required to add water just to cover the whole chicken. This means the soup is not alot. If I were to consume it, I would finish the soup immediate. I don't think it is good to leave medicinal soup overnight.

I always think that the solution to our health problems are inside what we eat and do. As humans are being more clever, they are searching the goods in our nature to find out what is the real "heal" from them. Nice sharing, but careful to citrus like lime; they might irritate bladder or urinary tract.

rob 5 years ago

I just wanted to let people know my uncle used a similar recipe and it brought his blood sugar down dramatically so that his diabetes Dr. from Joslin Diabetes Center (Boston) asked what he did. His Dr. said he didn't think there was any medical evidence it would be beneficial. That said my mother has been trying it too without much change or benefit. So as one of the other posters indicated, it might work for some but not others.

We should also remember that approved mainstream medical treatments are also not 100% effective for every patient.

Good Guy profile image

Good Guy 5 years ago from Malaysia Author

Hi Nascargal,

Ok. Look at a few Youtube on steaming. You can start on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDp12PeimsU&feature...

The above youtube steaming is what I call straight steaming. You would notice the ingredients are left on the perforated container, and left to cook. The Chinese way of steaming is the same process except the ingrediants are placed in a separate container, with a lid. This is to prevent the steam-water from getting into the ingredients, and also to prevent the ingrediants from losing their nutritious contents. So it will be like boiling, except you "boil" it inside the steamer, from the heat generated by the very hot steam, instead of boiling under direct fire or direct heat, as you are doing now.

The proper term for this type of steaming is called "double-boil". There are 2 easier methods; by using slow-cooker or crocpot, and the proper "double-boiler pot"

Youtube below shows the crocpot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HJ7HPBU_sM

Youtube below shows the "double boiler pot".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4m9DAlaOQg&feature...

Hope this helps.

What type of chicken shall I use? Is it the normal or kampong chicken? Usually kampong chicken is use for making essence and is more nutritious than the big chicken. Shall I cut the chicken into pieces or steam it whole without head, tail and feet? How many times shall I drink it in a week?

For lime, is it the small or the big ones? How long shall I steam the chicken? Pls advise. Thks

Good Guy profile image

Good Guy 5 years ago from Malaysia Author

Hi Irene,

Any chicken will do, but kampung chicken is better. You can put the chicken whole, or cut into 2 or four pieces.

"How many times shall I drink it in a week?"

It is not stated. Use your discretion. But my opinion is that you should drink it all in one go for each recipe.

"For lime, is it the small or the big ones? How long shall I steam the chicken?"

Use the big ones, but small ones also can.

As a rule of thumb, 2 to 3 hours under low fire.

this recipe is to do more with the chicken than with the benefits of lime!

a fresh lime squeezed in a glass of fresh water is bound to prove more useful for health than using it with a chicken especially for those who are vegetarians.

HelenD 22 months ago

Okay, so I tried this recipe and whew! It is really tart. There must be something we can add to it to make it more palatable. Not sure I can do this one again. I love lime, but the lime is very overpowering. I drink tea with lime in it every day and I noticed that my blood sugar was getting better when I started adding lime to my tea. Maybe I will just drink the tea with lime, I am going to have to choke down this broth otherwise.

Shelly 17 months ago

I use a slow cooker to cook a small chicken breast with either one yellow lemon sliced into pieces or 4 small lime also sliced into pieces with enough water to cover the ingredients. Sometimes I add a chinese pear. Been drinking this soup every other day for two weeks. It works. From 14 mmol my reading has gone down to 8.
