Self-Confidence for Success

"You are of NO value to the world or to yourself until you know yourself better."

-Napoleon Hill

Self-Confidence

Self-confidence leads to self-improvement, which further plays one major factor to achieving success. Success won’t happen without a cause, and it will only be brought about by you and not by anyone else. Knowing yourself is what matters, what you are capable of and what your limitations are.

"Where fear controls, achievement is an impossibility"

-Napoleon Hill

The concept of fear

Fear is the reason why poverty and failure exist, and self-confidence starts with the eradication of this fear. Remember that the only man who makes no mistakes is the man who does nothing. Do not be afraid of to commit mistakes, but remember to never do the same mistake twice.

The primary fears that hinder personal achievement are the fear of rejection, criticism, and defeat. Rejection and constructive criticism is very much helpful for your progress, it helps you polish out your flaws and move forward. Destructive criticism on the other hand should be ignored. It is important to never mind what their destructive criticisms say because in reality they are of no aid to you.

Defeat must be accepted as a way to teach how to do things better. Failure and defeat are two different things. Defeat is temporary. Failure on the other hand, is giving up.

"Believe in yourself, but do not tell the world instead, show the world what you can do."

-Napoleon Hill

Self-confidence VS Egotism

Self-confidence and egotism are two very different things. Egotism may be defined as having a very high self-esteem that underestimates everything and may regard itself as ‘superior.’ In simpler terms, it's like saying you can do it but never really trying. Self-confidence is the product of knowledge. It comes from knowing yourself, how much you know, why you know, and how are you going to use it. Likewise, self-confidence also comes from knowing your weaknesses and limitations. Self-confidence is seen in action. Egotism is only seen in thought and words.

"The only SIN is to cease interest when you’ve found your limitations."

-Napoleon Hill

Pushing your limitations

Most of the time, you lose interest in things when you've found your limitations. Likewise, reaching your limitations debunks the self-confidence that you’ve eagerly built. Limitations are there not to hinder further achievement; instead they are there for you push them further. Always push your boundaries. Remember that everything will be over the moment you stop cherishing your vision of future achievements.

Self-confidence and personal achievement

One concept that can define life is that each and every one of us influences the other. To be able to succeed, you must be able to make use of this concept and effectively adapt it to your cause. Those famous leaders and businessmen were the bests at this game, but so can you. Self-improvement is basically the key. You won’t be capable of having others follow you if you are not even sure yourself. But the time you have full control and knowledge of what you are doing, you do not need to persuade them as they will follow you by themselves. Great leaders are made out of those followers who have the courage to step up as they believe in themselves. Until the time that you decide to improve and step up, you’ll always linger in the shadows of those who have the will and shined.

Nature as you see is defined by the law of cause and effect. Everything does happen for a reason. That is why you should persist. For success as an effect will only happen with you as the cause.

Awesome hub. I used to coach kids at soccer. The last thing I used to say before they went onto the playing field was "Don't be afraid to make mistakes."

Cepheid, Welcome to Hubpages! I think you will like it around here :) Congrats on an excellent hub; it made me think of Thomas Edison and how he allegedly said "Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.". Voted up!
