Weight Watchers Food

Weight Watchers has been synonymous with weight loss success for over 40 years. In fact, US News & World Report ranks Weight Watchers #1 of the top 20 weight loss plans in America!

Yes, Weight Watchers is known for weight loss but Weight Watchers is also known for something very important--FOOD! Yes, Weight Watchers embraces a key-factor in staying on any diet plan: people have to enjoy the food they eat and get enough of it, or they'll quit. That's just how it goes.

The Weight Watchers Points Plus™ program allows you to eat whatever food you like to eat. They have combined expert nutrition and weight loss know-how, coming up with a plan that can work for anyone. Young, old, healthy, not-so healthy...anyone! And with an excellent advertising campaign in place, featuring the beautiful and talented Jennifer Hudson, Weight Watchers is now more popular than ever! "It's a new day!"

Weight Watchers PointsPlus

The latest version of the Weight Watchers is PointsPlus™. The key is to manage food portions while tracking fats, protein, carbohydrates and fiber. It sounds complicated but it's not.

To help you, Weight Watchers has created a pocket-sized guide and an electronic calculator to do the work. There is even a free version of the calculator right on their website. Just enter the amounts from the nutritional labels on your food and it does the computation. Note that you will not hear "calories" mentioned any longer. With this new system, the calories take care of themselves.

Quick Look at the Points: In most cases, a person is allotted a base of 29 points per day. In addition, another 45 points per week is available to be drawn on as a bonus. That way you don't have to say "no" to every dessert, or pizza, or going out to eat. See? Weight Watchers is about food!

Another thing to consider is portions. This is very important. Learn portion sizes and measurements. Use a food scale to help you out until you can "eyeball it". Weight Watchers helps to bring food volume into balance.

Weight Watchers Zero Points Foods

Zero points foods are an exciting feature in the PointsPlus™ Plan. They tend to be high in nutrition and lower in calories (though calories are not counted in the WW Points Plus™ plan). They also add volume and variety to your daily regimen. All fresh fruits and most vegetables are zero points! Yes, even bananas and watermelon! So, use your imagination and have fun with the long list of Zero Points foods--all you have to do is count any points in the add-ons.

Add-ons would be:

  • If you have all zero-points vegetables but saute′ them in oil, count the points in the oil. It's an add-on.
  • If you put yogurt on your fresh fruit, count the points in the yogurt.
  • Salad dressings, meats, cheeses, croutons, beans on your salads all have points values.

Great info on Weight Watchers. I have been on the Slim Fast Diet now since May and have been slowly losing weight but I am really tiring of the diet. Weight Watchers just may be another ways to go for me.

Up useful and interesting.
