A root canal is a procedure done by dentists to save a decayed or infected tooth. The dentists remove the nerve and pulp of the tooth and the inside of the tooth is cleaned out. After the tooth is cleaned out, it is sealed and a crown is placed to cover the tooth to restore it back to a fully functional tooth with the exception of feeling temperature changes in the specific tooth; this should not affect the day to day functioning of the tooth.

Our teeth looks very strong outside but it is soft and tender inside with very sensitive nerves and tissues that surround them. If theses nerves become infected bacteria will start to grow and multiply and the tooth and surrounding areas will become infected.
