Christmas Haiku

His birth was a gift,

Unique, and so are we all,

God's gift given us.

Jesus, God with us,

Immanuel, Savior.too.

His teachings persist.

His father, our's too.

Sons and daughters of our God.

Sacred, as all life,

Boys climb nearby trees,

Only he climbed his for us.

Watch!, and climb one too.

Revered by us all.

Teacher, yes, but walked his walk.

He walked not alone.

Christmas meaning's lost,

If we forget to serve now.

Serving them serves him.

Would you be with him,

Given to his father's will?

God smiles at our best.

Life's changing chances,

Celebrate, proclaim his name.

Free yourself for him!

Would you be his own?

No life like his, pure, stain free.

Follow his paths then.

True discipleship,

His example we follow,

Bound to him 'til death.

Listen to his words,

Though his prayers no words describe..

Hear them with your heart.

Find now life's meaning,

Led to die as are we all.

Service paves the way.

Bending to His will,

The only begotten son

Died once and lives still.

Go forth now as His.

Sing and wish for holy nights,

Souls pure as fresh snow.

Wake to a new dawn.

Wake to a fresh pureness.
Wake to a fresh pureness. | Source

Is it ever too late?

Is it ever too late to repent and start fresh?

Very light and refreshing indeed. Wonderful piece of praise where it is due.

Ericdierker = The greatest love of all has its birth celebrated with a Christmas, but on the Love Day of The Year we tend to foget him (February 14th.) Thanks for another comment.

"Only he climbed his for us." Love that line. Your poem is rich with the real message of Christmas. A Christ centered 2014 Christmas to you and yours!

MsDora - That was a special line, that's for sure, and I'm glad you chose to highlight that one. We will celebrate our Thanksgiving Day in about a week, and then the complexities of Christmas while trying to remember the reason for the season. Blessings to you and yours, too.

aviannovice - That's the kind of weekend here, having gone temporarily from a household of nine, to a household of two! What a difference! BTW, I have finished the annual Christmas Letter and added Thanksgiving wishes. They go out in the mail today, hooray!

It is great to see other Hubbers writing such great poetry in celebration of this season. More power to each of you, and a very Merry Christmas!

Taking a look at my Hubs with Christmas as one of the words in the title, led me back to this one which I enjoyed writing and reading again. Perhaps you will too, and perhaps even share with someone you especially care about at this season of the year. Merry Christmas!
