A New Easter Tradition: How to Make Bunny Poo Poo

Little Bunny Foo Foo Left Some Bunny Poo Poo

Would you like to make Easter more exciting this year? Perhaps you'd like to gross out your friends and family members, while delighting them with a delicious chocolate snack? Well, I have just the treat for you... Bunny Poo Poo!

My co-worker and I came up with this idea based on one of our other activities at work. We "hop" each other for Easter by leaving treats on desks, and I became inspired by some feedback from my hub about that subject. I thought it would be funny to make something called Bunny Poo Poo for those that did not participate. In the end, we got so carried away with the idea, we made a giant bowl for everyone at work.

Turns out, no one minds eating something that looks like rabbit poop as long as it is chocolate. So basically, if you would like to make this sweet treat for Easter, all you need to do is get food that looks like bunny poo and mix it in a bowl. It is easy to make and everyone loves it. I am sure you can try variations of this treat, perhaps with salted nuts or something to make it a little less sweet if that is what you desire.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Cocoa Puffs
  • 2 bags Small chocolate marshmallows, (Or one bag of chocolate and one bag of cinnamon marshmallows)
  • 1 giant box Whoppers, (the chocolate kind, not the burger from Burger King)
  • 1 large box or several small boxes Chocolate covered peanuts
  • 2 - 3 small boxes Milk Duds
  • OPTIONAL Chocolate covered raisins
  • OPTIONAL Chocolate chips
Source

Instructions

  1. Take all your ingredients, open all the boxes and bags.
  2. Pour everything into a large bowl.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Done!

That Was Easy

Wow, how easy is that recipe? Anyone can do it, including small children. Some tips I discovered:

  • Chocolate covered raisins tend to throw off the taste. They are just way too healthy for this mix anyway even though you could use them as a substitute for the chocolate covered peanuts if someone has an allergy.
  • Any type of chocolate covered nuts are going to be delicious in this mix. You could even make a variation with just Whoppers, chocolate covered nuts, Cocoa Puffs, and Milk Duds, and it would be delicious.
  • Yes, I think Reese's Puffs cereal could work for this recipe, too.
  • Basically, anything small, semi-round, and brown is going to work for Bunny Poo. That is really what I am trying to tell you.

Fun Ideas for this Recipe

Aside from just making Bunny Poo Poo, I feel like the presentation of it matters as well. My co-worker and I put everything in a bowl, placed plastic Easter bags beside it so everyone could take some, and put a sign next to the bowl. The sign should read something like: Little Bunny Foo Foo hopped along and left some Bunny Poo Poo. You can use your imagination on this one.

It is intended to be funny and no one was offended by the name "Bunny Poo Poo." There wasn't anyone that was unable to eat it because of the poopy images the name of it brought to mind. I would also assume older children that may be a bit tired of Easter traditions will find the disgusting humor entertaining. One of my co-workers even suggested taking a stuffed bunny and squatting him over the bowl. Needless to say, we did not do that.

Make sure to create your own Bunny Poo Poo this Easter. If you do happen to have a real rabbit indoors, you probably need to keep him away from the Bunny Poo Poo. You would not want to make any mistakes with his own special "gifts" he leaves you and fake bunny poo, if you know what I mean. Happy Easter!

LMAO...literally....only you, Jeannie, only you! I can't wait to share this with Bev tonight. I think I'll do it when she is eating dinner so I can see milk come out her nose. :)

Omit the milk duds and cocoa puffs, add extra chocolate covered raisins and chips, toss in a few chocolate covered almonds and "I'm In for the Poo-Poo!"

Every Christmas I buy a big container of something called Reindeer Droppings, and I'm typically running out around Easter. This is a perfect chocomix to carry me forward to the summer.

billybuc - What can I say, some weird brainstorming occurs at my office. I think we are probably supposed to be finding new ways to help the customers, not delight workers with disgusting yet delicious snacks. Oh well. At least something was achieved this month. :-) I would also like to see Bev shoot milk out her nose. Take photos if you can!

Sunshine625 - You have the right idea... it is all about customizing your treats. I am hoping to find a salty snack that looks like poo to add to the mix. Hope you enjoy your Bunny Poo Poo!

Suzie HQ - Milk Duds have caramel in the center and Whoppers are malted milk balls. They are quite delicious! Thanks for the vote up and thanks for sharing.

Patty Inglish, MS - I am always happy to liven up the party somehow. Hehe. Thanks for the vote up!

FlourishAnyway - Thank you so much. I took a crazy amount of photos yesterday.

Weekend Reader - You are right! There are reindeer dropping for Christmas. I wasn't even think about that. I am happy I was able to help you out with the bunny poo poo!

Thanks everyone for your comments!

I wasn't too sure about what I'd find after reading your title, Jeannie, but all is well now since your chocolate confection includes chocolate-covered peanuts which are a major food group as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the idea.

You know, you can get a lot of protein from the peanuts, so yes, it is part of the food group! :-) You really must try it. Thanks for checking out my hub and thanks for the comment!

Thank you for sharing such a cute recipe. It would be a lot of fun to make a batch, put them in little treat bags and send them to elementary school.

We had planned on putting the Poo Poo in little bags to look like we'd shoveled poo into plastic bags, but time did not allow for it. I think it would be great to do that and send it to elementary school. Thanks for your comment and thanks for checking out my hub!

Doodlehead - I take great pride in coming up with good titles. Thank you! :-)

cbarbar - It is pretty tasty... just make sure to seal the Poo Poo tightly... the marshmallows can get too hard in a short period of time. Thanks for your comment!

What a cute idea! Rabbit poop looks a lot like this. I walk my dogs back in the woods, and I see it all the time. Along with coyote poop. Which has hair in it. Now we just need to create a coyote poop dessert!

rebeccamealey, we could make coyote poop as a summer treat. We'll have to figure out how to make the hair. ;-)

sujaya venkatesh, thanks so much!
