Awesome 2010 Christmas Gifts For Kids

Updated on October 28, 2010

Choosing the Right Christmas Present

Choosing the right Christmas present during the holiday shopping season can be really stressful. But there are plenty of resources online that can help you make the right decision by choosing the right Christmas present that is sure to please the person receiving the gift. If your shopping for boys between the ages of 8 and 23, there's a good chance that he may want something related to an XBOX 360, video games, or other electronic entertainment consoles like Playstation 3.

If your looking for an outdoor related present, consider getting him an Remote Control Helicopter or RC Helicopter. RC Helicopters provide hours and hours of enjoyment, they are fun to fly outside, exhilarating, and they are among the most entertaining out of all remote control toys.

In my experiences, girls tend to be less picky when it comes to Christmas presents and there are a huge variety of presents that you could choose from. Girls may be looking for makeup or beauty products, jewelery or electronics like cell phones or iPads. Overall, the best way to choose a good Christmas present is to be creative, innovative, thoughtful, and have a brief idea of what the person would like.

Some Random Christmas Present Ideas

RC Helicopter

RC Helicopters or remote control helicopters are a great gift for outdoor activities, and boy are they lots of fun! If your looking for a great gift for your son or nephew, this Christmas present idea could be a hit! I've spent a couple hours flying RC helicopters in the park and I was having a blast, keep in mind that I am 23 and I was having fun. I can only imagine how ecstatic a 13 year old would be when flying an RC helicopter.

XBOX Kinect

The XBOX Kinect is a great idea for a Christmas present for boys and girls. XBOX Kinect is an addition to the XBOX 360 that you connect to the XBOX 360 console. It allows some XBOX 360 games to work similar to the way Wii games work. XBOX Kinect will sense movement in the games that you are playing. For example, if you were playing a soccer game on XBOX Kinect, you would need to actually kick your foot to kick the soccer ball. This seems to be a very popular item during the 2010 Christmas shopping season, it will be interesting to see how it changes the video game marketplace.

A New Digital Camera

A digital camera can serve as a great Christmas present, especially during the Holidays. Digital Cameras are great for families because they help to capture those precious moments. This is a very practical present, and almost everyone would appreciate this as a Christmas present. Especially if their existing camera is out of date. Digital Cameras are much cheaper these days, and that makes this present more affordable than it was in previous years. My favorite digital camera during this Christmas season is the Canon PowerShot SD780 IS.

Practical Gifts

Practical gifts like clothes can be a great idea for Christmas shopping, but make sure you know what kind of style the person likes.  Belts seem to be a very practical Christmas present. Shoes can also be a good idea if you know what shoe size, if you don't know the shoe size its probably best you get a gift certificate. But usually, I try to avoid giving gift certificates as Christmas presents.
