All Seasonal Holiday Treats

Wedding or Birthday Treats!!

Happy Holidays!

I had to write to share with everyone looking for something deliciously different this holiday season. I come from a very large family which includes (past and present) some extraordinary women on my mother's side with a gift for food preparation. Years ago many of our ancestors in the South worked as domestics in private homes and their cooking became popular for the soulful touch that made some well known recipes what they are today. Having migrated from the South, my family also brought the love of good food with them when they settled in Pennsylvania. My great grandmother, grandmother, and mother all worked as domestics, as well as several aunts. And currently we still have great cooks around.

The Love of Family and Food

Whenever we have gatherings or reunions there is an emotional tie between realizing the blessings of family fellowship and the much anticipated menu! Heavenly aromas, beautifully presented entrees and side dishes, and desserts to bring tears to your eyes! It has been so wonderful for the generations to continue to teach and hand down this love of good food. Now I am going to be honest and reveal that this particular family trait did not settle in me, I actually hate cooking! However, I am very grateful for those sisters, aunts, and cousins who did find the pleasure in it to develop their skills of fine food preparation.

The Dessert Diva!

One cousin in particular, Monica, is a dear, faithful soul who not only inherited her mother's ability for outstanding culinary skill but has actually turned her talent into a thriving business. She has an incredibly inspiring story that you can read at this link to the right.

To treat yourself and your family, friends, and co-workers to delicious homemade holidays treats you need only to check out Monica's website. You'll find ready-for-giving holiday baskets, traditional cookies, gourmet cookies, brownies, and cake and candy treats. I know time is short before Christmas, but she also creates awesome treats for every holiday throughout the year, as well as offering a cookie of the month club! You won't be disappointed! Enjoy!

Just a Note

Just wanted to note that my father's side of family also produced great cooks! I used my mother's family to lead up to Monica's story. Love you all!

I am a huge fan of the holiday baking and dishes, but I think the cookies are my favorite. They're so cheerful. Fun hub, I enjoyed it!
