Christmas Gifts For Women Who Walk
What kind of Christmas gift are you thinking about buying for the woman/women in your life who like to walk? Not everyone enjoys wearing heels, and I can attest to being one since I am a pedestrian who prefers my flats over platforms every day of the week. I realize many women feel they can only look stylish in high heels, but I do not think that way, and I know there are many other women who feel the same. On a daily basis, I pair my walking shoes with a skirt and a top, and I still look dressed up enough. Of course, I would not go to a fancy event wearing walking shoes, but as a pedestrian walking many miles around town, I prefer a flat shoe that I can move around in comfortably. Years ago I did own a few pairs of heels, and honestly, I just did not like my feet being pinched just so I could look fashionable.
I can recommend buying the woman in your life walking shoes if you know she would prefer something like this over a pricier gift. Also, in this economy, people just do not have the money to buy their girlfriend/wife/daughter/friend a car or a thousand dollar trip to Tahiti. That is fantastic if you can afford these things, but walking shoes are a delightful gift for people who do not have the finances to buy their loved ones something more extravagant.
Buy Walking Shoes For Christmas
I bought a pair of Sketchers D'Lites the other day, and I am actually finding these very comfortable and light-weight. The last time I purchased a pair of Sketchers I certainly was not a satisfied customer because I find some of their walking shoes are on the clunky side. For the last two years, I have been buying lightweight canvas shoes because I do not like to feel as if I am walking around with boats on my feet.
At first, I was just going to purchase another pair of plain canvas shoes, but I went shopping with my family, who suggested I should try on the pair of Sketchers. I prefer to minimize the time I spend on shoe shopping and having to unpack the shoes and repack these with all the annoying crinkly paper. One thing I would suggest is to know the shoe size of the for the woman/women you are buying these for before placing an order online. For the most part, I know if the shoe is either a 9 or a 9.5, in US sizes, that it will fit my feet. However, this usually holds true with plain canvas shoes, so I am glad I tried on the Sketcher D'Lites at the store before making my purchase. You need to know the woman you are buying a pair of shoes for has tried these on before purchasing a pair online. However, since my feet are super picky when it comes to how shoes fit, maybe I have to try shoes on more than some people. Now that I know the 9.5 Sketcher D'Lites fit my fit perfectly, I could buy a pair online in the future.
Buy The Perfect Canvas Walking Shoes For Christmas
As a pedestrian, I truly appreciate a lightweight canvas shoe. In the past, I have been a little too cheap and bought the discounted canvas shoes on sale, but a few months ago I made the smart choice of investing a little bit more in a pair of Converse. My Converse All Star canvas shoes are gray and have a more substantial sole than the average canvas shoes. I walk several miles in these shoes every day, and these still do not have any holes yet.
Most other shoes get holes or begin to cut my feet after a couple of months, but after five months, my Converse shoes are still comfortable. However, as of this week, my Converse shoes have been relegated to being my hiking or chore shoes since I want to keep my new Sketchers walking shoes clean for as long as possible. I have walked over 400 miles in the last five months with my Converse All Star shoes, and these have held up quite well. I bought a gray pair back in July because these tend not to get as dirty as quickly as the lighter shades of canvas shoes. So remember to know the shoe size of the woman you are buying walking shoes for as a Christmas present.
