My Favorite Christmas Movies List Are Some Of The Best Holiday Movies Ever

Everyone probably has a Christmas movies list that includes all their favorite holiday movies. One of my family's favorite things to do at Christmas time is to watch all of our favorite all-time Christmas movies. It gets us into the spirit of the holiday season and I suppose that is why there are so many movies with a Christmas theme that are made each year.

Haven't you ever thought about why there are so many versions of A Christmas Carol created? We know the story but every time we watch it the theme of the movie touches our holiday hearts. God bless us every one!

This Christmas season I created the following list of my favorite Christmas movies. They are all family friendly because after all Christmas is about family and love. I hope you can find time in the busy holiday season to enjoy them.

It's A Wonderful Life

This is one of the Grandaddy of all Christmas Movies. It's a Wonderful Life stars Jimmy Stewartand Donna Reed in a classic Christmas Story about a man who gets the opportunity to see how the world around him would have turned out if he had never been born.

It has many a heart warming moment and has been a season favorite for many years.

Christmas Vacation

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation stars Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo in a hilarious adventure of experiencing the Griswold family Christmas. From picking out the Christmas tree to sipping eggnog by the fire, this movie is filled with classic comedy Christmas moments.

Clark Griswold is determined to have a traditional Christmas when both sets of in-laws come to visit for the holidays. A series of Christmas traditions are pack filled with fun. This movie is one of the tops on my Christmas movie list.

The Santa Clause

The Santa Clause movie originally came out in 1994 and stars Tim Allen as Santa Claus. It has now a total of three movies in the series.

Kids love the Santa Clause movies. It is a great story about how Santa Claus operates at the North Pole. It has a lot of magical moments and is a movie both kids and adults will love. The Santa Clause movies are heart warming and remind you of when you were young.

The Nativity Story

The Nativity Story first came to the big screen in 2006. It portrays the drama of Mary and Joseph as they traveled to Bethlehem. It is based on the Biblical story of how Jesus was born and what Mary and Joseph had to endure in their lives.

The movie is geared more towards adults but it is a great way to introduce kids to the story of the birth of Jesus.

All I Want For Christmas

All I Want For Christmas is a Christmas adventure about two kids who want to get their parents back together for Christmas. They scheme and plots a series of ideas that they hope will give their Mom and Dad together time where they can reunite.

My kids have always loved this movie. It is a great story and set in a wonderful Christmasy New York City atmosphere.

A Christmas Story

Everyone loves "A Christmas Story" where Ralphie wants a BB gun for Christmas. Both kids and adults love the traditional story of an old fashioned Christmas. It is set in the 1940's and is filled with funny moments that will forever be remembered.

Ralphie is determined to get a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas and the movie entails everything that happens during that special Christmas season. It is recreated as a narrator is speaking as Ralphie.

A Christmas Story is a favorite on everyone's Christmas movie list.

Elf

Elf is the story of an elf named Buddy played by Will Ferrell who mistakenly was raised as an elf in the North Pole. He is a human sized elf in a world of small sized elves at the North Pole. Santa Claus sends him back to New York City to find his real Dad who is played by James Caan.

Elf is a funny Christmas movie that is able to be enjoyed by kids of all ages.

A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol is a classic Christmas movie. It is based on story written by Charles Dickens. It has been remade so many times because the story never gets old.

It tells the story of an old miser named Scrooge who is visited by 3 ghosts on Christmas Eve. The ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas future enable Scrooge to see life as it could have been and Scrooge changes his ways just in time for Christmas Day.

Miracle On 34th Street

Miracle On 34th Street is the story of a little girl whose mother is in charge of Macy's hiring and Christmas parade. The Mom hires Kris Kringle to be Santa Clause at Macy's and he ends up being the real Santa Claus. The little girl who was always taught that Santa is a myth learns that there really is a Santa Claus.

This movie has an older version where Susan (the little girl) is played by Natalie Wood and a more modern version where Susan is played by Mara Wilson. Both are great Christmas movies.

The Polar Express

The Polar Express is a magical Christmas adventure movie. The Polar express is a train that picks up children to go visit the North Pole and Santa Claus. The movie is animated with life like characters and stars Tom Hanks.

This movie is well loved by children and their parents and teaches you the power of believing in the spirit of Christmas.

These are all great movies. I would also add "The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever" and "Deck the Halls."
