Cute Ideas for an Elegant and Special Pink Baby Shower Theme
An elegant pink baby shower!
I recently attended a beautiful pink baby shower for a family member. It was held at a restaurant, and everything was done in - of course - pink! Mixed in with shades of burgundy and white, this was decidedly the prettiest baby shower I have ever attended. Unfortunately my camera ran out of memory half-way through the shower, but I still managed to get a nice collection of photos for the mommy-to-be and to also use as ideas for future parties or baby showers.
This theme would be easy to pull off in a home or a community hall too. The main thing would be spending a little time and money gathering the decorations, enlisting friends and family to help out and renting some of the extras (like the chocolate fountain, unless you have a friend or family member who has one)
Idea #1: A pink memory photo table
My absolute favorite thing at the shower was the "photo memory table" that was put together by the father-to-be and mother-to-be's family and friends. There were photos of both the parents-to-be taken when they were babies and children, along with photos of them together before and after their married life. This idea would be very inexpensive to do - just collect photos from family members, put them on a beautifully laid table and add some small decorations like pink flowers and flickering battery run candles (you can even get these candles at the dollar store) The candles can also be spread throughout the shower to achieve a pretty, elegant and soft flickering effect too.
Idea #2: Elegant pink, white and burgundy table settings
White lace vinyl table cloth roll
Vinyl tablecloth rolls in various colors
The tables were exquisite - of course these were the restaurant chairs but you could also do this with regular folding tables: Buy a roll of pink table vinyl tablecloth and then layer with a white vinyl lace tablecloth (you could also rent tablecloths too) Add matching pink napkins (you could buy these at a party supply or maybe even your local dollar store)
Plastic forks, spoons and knives can be used for "silverware" or you could also use real silverware (you can also rent silverware if you want that more elegant look)
The tables at Sonia's shower had different centerpieces but you could also get some simple pink flowers in vases or pink rubber duckies for the middle of the table. More on the centerpieces in Idea #3.
Idea #3: Table centerpieces - mix it up!
24 Pink rubber duckies for table centerpieces/favors
What I really liked about the shower decorations were the variety of centerpieces on the tables. It made the shower very creative and it was fun going around to all the tables and looking at the different pieces. Some of the tables had pink babies like this one. You could easily achieve this effect by placing pink baby dolls on a silver platter or decorative white plate. If you want to raise the baby like this one, you could wrap some round cake cut Styrofoam pieces with silver or white netting and then place the baby on the top, like a cake. To add even more elegance, glue some white beads around the plate and add some silver star party twine around the "cake" round. Cute!
If you wanted to do something different than the dolls, you could put some pink rubber duckies in the middle for the centerpiece. Then at the end you could even give these away as party gifts or to extra-special friends and family members as baby shower mementos. Who wouldn't like to take home a pink rubber ducky?
Value pack shower decorations
Some other cute baby shower ideas:
- use small glass candle votives and put pink m&ms's, pink flowers, flickering candles or pink jelly beans in them. Scatter the votives throughout the tables.
- pink and white tablecloths for the cake table, gift table and food table.
- pink gift bags with white or silver tissue to hold party game gifts.
- a chocolate fountain with an assortment of goodies to dip - strawberries, coconut macaroons , pretzels, chips, crackers, melon and cookies.
- hang cute pink baby photos on the wall with ribbons as decorations.
- a specially decorated chair for the mom-to-be with a comfortable pink cushion and pink tulle wrapped around the back.
