Don't Eat Your Costume!

If you enjoy food and love Halloween, why not dress like food this year? You can be anything from a banana to a hot dog. You could even get creative and dress like a cup of coffee. Whatever you really enjoy munching on, there are plenty of options.

You might think you'd have to buy a costume, but that is not necessarily true. Buy a lot of dark purple balloons or green balloons, and sew them to your outfit. Now you are a bunch of grapes! You can also opt to dress like an animal before it becomes food, such as dressing like a pig or a cow. However, if you are a vegetarian or going to a party full of vegetarians, I would not really recommend that costume!

Halloween doesn't have to be all scary. Dressing like a fruit, vegetable, hot dog, or any other food can be fun and hilarious. You are bound to be a hit at any Halloween party. The best part of it is these costumes are available at just about any store. If you can't find something at Walmart, Target, or a party shop, you can always purchase it online. Food related Halloween costumes are also typically reasonably priced.

Cupcake

Cupcakes are all the rage right now. Everyone loves eating cupcakes, so why not dress like a cupcake for this Halloween? A cupcake is a great costume that is feminine and cute. Instead of showing too much skin this Halloween, you can wear leggings underneath the costume. You will still be the talk of the Halloween party!

The only problem with a cupcake costume is it can be a bit hard to sit down while wearing it. You would probably want to try this one on at the store first before purchasing it and attempt to sit down to make sure the bottom of the outfit is not too stiff. You could also wear a cupcake costume if you intend on standing up most of the evening anyway.

Fruit

As previously discussed, it is not that difficult to dress like a bunch of grapes for Halloween. You can opt to make you own Halloween costume with balloons or you can purchase an outfit. You can bring your own theme music on an iPod everywhere you go that night: "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" will be appreciated by all.

Aside from grapes, there are plenty of other fruit options. Some Halloween costumes I've seen in stores and online include:

  • Banana
  • Orange
  • Cherry
  • Apple
  • Strawberry
  • Watermelon

You can be creative this Halloween and get an apple or tomato costume, but tell everyone you are dressed like a pomegranate. No one will really know the difference on a dark Halloween night anyway. If it is really dark, you might even be able to pretend you are a plum.

Also, there is no reason why you can't smell like your favorite fruit. Bath & Body Works has numerous fragrance options that smell like apples or oranges. Although I don't believe they have any strawberry or cherry scented body sprays at this time, many other stores do. You will really impress everyone when you look and smell like your favorite fruit this Halloween.

Vegetables

Well, I can't really highlight the joys of dressing like a fruit this Halloween, but not give you the option of dressing like a vegetable, can I? After all, fruits and veggies go hand in hand. There are a number of fun vegetable costume options available.

Some vegetable Halloween costumes I've seen recently are:

  • Peas in a pod
  • Corn
  • Carrot
  • Radish
  • Turnip
  • Tomato
  • Celery

Get together with a group of friends and you can create a Halloween costume salad if all of you decide to dress like veggies this year.

Couple Outfits

Maybe you and your significant other love to dine together all the time. Perhaps you would both like to dress like food this Halloween. There are many matching couples Halloween costumes with a food theme.

For instance, you and partner might enjoy dressing like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich this year. You would be the peanut butter side of the sandwich and he could be the jelly side of the sandwich. What a cute couple costume! Of course, if one separates from the other at the Halloween party, you would just look like one lonesome piece of toast... so stick together!

Another cute couple option is a chocolate bar and a jar a peanut butter. If you have a small child, you can dress him or her up in a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. After all, chocolate and peanut butter come together to make a peanut butter cup.

You can also opt for an eggs and bacon costume. Both costumes are pretty easy to make if you know how to sew, so that might be a good do-it-yourself Halloween costume for you and your significant other to make together. The couple that sews together stays together! OK, I just made that up, but still, it is fun to make Halloween costumes as a couple.

Junk Food

Don't just settle for healthy foods. You can dress like unhealthy food for Halloween. You have so many junk food options.

Some of the many popular junk food Halloween costume options you will find at any store include:

  • Hot dog
  • Hamburger
  • Pizza
  • Fries
  • Can of soda
  • Candy of all types
  • And much more!

If you are having a Halloween party, you can even serve some of the junk food and look just like what you are eating. What could be more fun than eating chips while dressed like a bag of chips?

You Are What You Eat

Whatever you enjoy eating in life, there is no reason you can't dress that way for Halloween. It doesn't matter whether you prefer junk food or fruits or veggies, there are plenty of options for you. You can even dress like an egg with devil horns... deviled egg! As long as you are having fun, you will have a great Halloween costume.

Happy Halloween!
