Enjoy Christmas Like You Once Did

As I was in the store with my husband today I began to get very excited. Maybe this was because we haven't got to fully enjoy a holiday together, or maybe because I love shiney things. None the less, I felt that feeling that I haven't experienced in quite some time. The one that you get when you're a kid, and Christmas is drawing near. Each and everyday I have noticed the countdown on eBay getting closer and closer to Christmas. Some how, I actually am finding myself excited this year. I think this is because I am actually making a part to get excited. We lose that sense of excitement because our lives are too busy to focus on it. I think it is important to really pay attention to the holidays, to be reminded of what it is that you used to love about them.

Enjoy Christmas Like You Once Did

Take time out each day to really get into the Christmas spirit. I think one of the best things that I have done lately is integrated the things that I used to love about Christmas into my Christmas routine. I recently went out and bought a string of Christmas lights, and I plan on hanging them around my house. It may look sloppy, but I don't care. I want to walk through my house and feel like I am in a winter wonderland. I also plan to have an extensive bake fest, and make as many cookies as possible. These are the kinds of things that I remember growing up, and I want to continue to remember them.

If you're feeling a bit down this year for Christmas, remember the things that you once loved about the magical holiday. If you aren't Christian, or don't celebrate christmas-- there is always the option of celebrating the winter solstice! Happy Holidays Everyone!

Voted up girl. This is a great hub. I am sure this will touch a lot of others who read it. Hang your Christmas lights. I am sure they will look great.
