Christmas Present Ideas for your Boyfriend
I always struggle to know what to buy my boyfriend for Christmas. Should I spend more or less than I do for his birthday? Should I buy something practical or romantic? One big Christmas present or lots of little ones? Is he going to spend more on me than I do on him? This is a selection of presents at varying prices so you can buy a couple of the smaller presents, or one big one or even more if you are feeling particularly generous!
DVD Box Sets
I realise this is probably an obvious choice of gift but I think it is worth mentioning because unlike some of the other options I’ve given, DVD box sets can be bought for more than one occasion during the year (assuming of course that you don’t buy the same one twice). DVDs are easy because assuming you actually talk to your other half, you should have some idea of what their favourite TV shows are, and if you get the opportunity to snoop around their house, you can see which ones they already have.
A watch is a gift you can only really buy occasionally, so perhaps this is the time for you. There are so many different types and styles of watches that it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one that would suit your boyfriend. Not only that but they come in such a range of prices that whatever your budget you should be able to find something suitable.
This is another handy gift that doesn’t have to be expensive (but can be if you wish). I have found that guys break mp3 players fairly quickly so if they already have one, don’t fear, it won’t last. You can get some really good quality mp3 players for low prices, especially through sites like Amazon. You can probably get some good deals, so there’s no need to pay full retail prices.
For most guys (although not all) you can’t go wrong with some kind of sports shirt. Whether football, soccer, hockey etc, most guys do support a team of some description. What’s more, every year they bring out a new strip, so if your partner is a big fan then I am sure they will want to have the most up to date one. In many sports, like football (or soccer as it’s known in America) you have the local team kit and the national one which gives you even more opportunities to buy.
I think t-shirts are a great present to get a guy, especially after you’ve been dating for a while. It’s your chance to dress him up in clothes you like and it won’t seem like you are trying to alter his clothing style since you would have spent enough time with him to know what he likes to wear and what looks best on him. I think it’s a win win situation.
Yes, I know men and their computer games can drive us all crazy sometimes, but there are some positives: You don’t have to worry about where he is or what he’s doing because you know he is sitting quietly in a corner playing his games. He’s not pestering you, following you around the house bored and he’s not switching the tv channels when you are trying to watch your favourite programme. I think it’s time we stopped trying to compete with the computer games for attention and realise that they can work to our benefit!
