Girl's Night In Ideas

Updated on September 11, 2009

With many of us on a budget (myself included), going out with the girls can present a problem. Drinks at a restaurant or at a bar can be pretty pricey and a night out can run anywhere from $30-$60. With that in mind there are many fun ways you can spend time with the girls without spending a lot of cash. Here are some great girl’s night in ideas.

Clothes swap

Ask your friends to bring there gently used clothing that they no longer wear and you do the same. Once all of your girlfriends have arrived, arrange all the clothing by shirts, sweatshirts, pants, jackets, accessories, etc. All of your friends can then go through the clothes and pick out the ones they like.

Cocktail night

Ask your friends to find a cocktail recipe that they have never tried before. Have each friend bring the ingredients for their cocktail, make the cocktails together, try them out and have fun!

Bizarre foods night

If your friends like trying new and different foods then you should host a bizarre foods night. Each friend brings a dish that is a bit bizarre or out of the ordinary and you can all try them out together.

Hawaiian luau

Buy leis, tiki torches or tiki candles, Hawaiian themed glasses, Hawaiian themed plates, grass skirts, and any other item that you think will add to your luau experience. Have each friend bring a Hawaiian dish, and you supply the Hawaiian cocktails. Enjoy Hawaiian foods, Hawaiian cocktails, play Hawaiian music and have a great Hawaiian experience at home!

(You can find all of these party supplies at dollar stores and party supply shops for a very affordable price.)

Mexican fiesta night

Buy a piñata, a Mexican flag tablecloth, plastic sombreros, and red white and green decorations. Have each friend bring a Mexican dish to pass. Play Mexican music in the background have each friend put on a sombrero and enjoy Mexican dishes and drinks together.

Movie Night

Have each friend bring a good “girly” movie. Make some popcorn and have some refreshments available, plop down on the couch with your girlfriends and enjoy the movie!

(Some great “girly” movie ideas: Bridget Jones Diary, The Notebook, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Miss Congeniality, Sweet HomeAlabama, Hope Floats, Sex and the City, You’ve Got Mail, When Harry Met Sally, and Sixteen Candles.)
