"Halloween Is An Unholy Day to Celebrate"

A couple years ago, I did a little research on Halloween and found out some disturbing information about the day of Halloween. which is developed from ancient new years festival of the dead. The fortune telling methods begin in Europe hundreds of years ago and became an important part of Halloween. Tehy also thought that all witches met on October 31, to worship the devil. Today most people don't believe in ghost and witches but these supernatural beings still remains symbols of Halloween. The Halloween celebration marked the beginning of the season of cold darkness and decay. It naturally became associated with human death. Halloween also welcomes the spirit of the dead.r

"Halloween is an unholy day to celebrate" Isaiah 65 - 2 thru 5:

I have spread out my hands all the day unto rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts. A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face, that sacrificeth in gardens and burneth incense upon altars of brick. Which remain among the graves and lodge in monuments. which eat swine flesh and broth of abominable things in thy vessel. Which say, stand by thyself come not near to me, for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

Halloween is an unholy day to celebrate, because we're acknowledging the forces of evil by celebrating October 31, instead of giving God the glory. We're giving the glory to Satan. The devil has con us into believing that this is only a fun day for the children. Even some adults want to have a little fun. Apparently no one knows the terrible implications of celebrating this day of darkness, but Satan himself. We don't have any idea of the damage we're causing just by acting out this celebration. Think about it, we dress our children in horrible, ugly costumes and take them out for tricks or treats. What we don't know is that the trick is on the adults that go along with the plans of Satan. When I was a young girl, we really didn't celebrate Halloween. Since our parent were religious people and didn't believe in Halloween. We use to sneak around and try to celebrate it without our parent 's knowledge.

It was a lot of fun and we didn't know any better, but now it has gotten so bad over the years. When mean people are trying to harm innocent children. It really doesn't make any sense trying to take kids out for tricks or treat. Since the kids are subjected to dangerous things put into their bags of treats by some ungodly people. So, do this tell us anything about Halloween and the celebration there of. It's also not a day to celebrate because God said to have no other God before him. That means not celebrating Satan's holiday. So do yourself a favor, stop subjecting our children to the evil forces of darkness by participating in Satan's celebration of Halloween. Halloween is an unholy day to celebrate because we're acknowledging the forces of evil. I'm sure there will be people that will be upset with my opinion but if God's children will just realize that there's nothing good about Halloween. They will have their answer and want have to be mad at me for writing this hub.

If we think that celebrating Halloween is okay and fun, then we are all are easily decieved by Satan and all the reason for celebrating this unholy day. It's not good for us to celebrate and it's definitely not good for our children to celebrate it either. Celebrating Halloween is like saying to our children it's okay to commit suicide, It's just that bad.

Thank you Kitty for your visit and comment, I appreciate you. There were a lot of pagan holiday that man made, including Christmas and Easter, so I'm not knocking anyone for their belief,I just don't choose to celebrate it myself. God bless you. creativeone59

If you look back in time to the original meanings of Halloween, the night was once called Samhain...and it was by no means used to worship Satan. The people who celebrated Samhain were the Celts and celebrated the Harvest, as well as to honor their passed loved ones. The Celts didn't even believe in Satan...so how could they worship him? Once the Church took over Europe, the Celts old beliefs were squished out...else the people were killed off. Samhain eventually became "All Hallows Eve", the night before the Catholics' "All Saints Day" in an effort to extinguish/convert the Celts' old beliefs and holidays. Through time, because Samhain couldn't be totally turned to a Christian night, it became a mutated holiday with trick or treating and candy, etc. and Christians say that it is "Satanic". Do your research on Christmas and Easter...neither of the dates were Biblical. The Church took those dates and made them into their own holidays to drown out the old Celts' holidays of celebrating the Winter Solstice (Christmas) and the Spring Equinox (Easter). Just my views. :)

Thank you Silver Poet, for followimg me, for your visit and comment. I understand what you're saying about turning it into a good day, like christmas, but my point is, it's still Satan holiday, no matter how much good we put into it and I choose not to celebrate it. To really be honest God doesn't celebrate holidays, these are all man made. Thank you again for all of your input. God bless you. creativeone59

Halloween started off being a bad day, but I think if enough people try hard enough it can be turned into a good day. We did the same thing with Christmas--turned it from a pagan celebration to a beautiful holiday of faith and love.

I wonder if you have ever read the Christian book written for children called the Pumpkin Patch Parable? It is the story of a pumpkin who has the gunk cleaned out of it and a light put into it. The story was trying to relate it to what God does for us: cleans out sin and replaces it with His light.

Thank you Rwritings, I appreciate you and your comment, but itsn't it a blessing that God has given us all opinions, to voice our opinions on things, whether they are true or not. I choose not to look at it as good, but that is my opinion. but I do thank for voicing yours. God bless you creativeone5B

Halloween has both good and bad connotations. The good is that it is Hallow Eve (Hallow meaning Holy), the eve before All Saints Day. In Medieval Europe people would dress up as the Devil with the red suit, horns, and pich fork NOT to honor Satan but to mock him because of his pride.

The bad it has it's original root in Sanheirn an ancient Celtic pagan religious festival. It is full of dark superstitions-fear of the undead, witches and demons. Some of the costumes and Halloween displays that are out there are so heidious it's like a vision of what Hell must be like!

I have a friend that passes out Gospel tracks with her candy at Halloween. I've thought what a great way to turn the tables on the Devil!

Thank you for not judging. I only responded that way because I've been studying religion for a long time, and I've learned that there are MANY different beliefs as to why holidays are celebrated. I know Halloween is evil to many, but not to all.

Keep writing! You're wonderful!

I don't want to be another meanie.

And I'm not a Halloweenie!

It's easy me.

I live alone don't you see.

I dim my light,

for Halloween night.

The little children are so dandy,

but do they need so much candy?

I'd rather have my feet on the ground,

when goblins come around.

Faye you said here that you did a research on Halloween, and you found it disturbing, well I've known that for years ago, it is a shocking sort of day and night, its all about dressing up looking evil, most of these sort of celebrations as they call them well they started by the Roman Church yrs ago, now it is stuck here, but as it was not in a Christian celebration type, no christian should take part.

we should disown it.

God loves you

Please don't be too quick to judge. There are ALOT of different ideas about how Halloween got started and if you do some further research you might be surprised.

Thank you Tamarajo, for agreeing, I think we are to gullible about the Halloween holiday. Being in denial is harmful to us. I appreciate you and your comment. Godspeed. creativeone59

I am so glad to hear I am not the only one who does not like nor celebrate this particular holiday. I do not miss anything about it.

It is how sin always works. "Its just fun" "what's the big deal" "it wont affect me that way" these are all things I hear about it.

I feel that even if the above sayings were true which I don't believe they are the simple fact of being disloyal to God who gives life is enough to not celebrate a holiday that glorifies death.

Rose Ella,Thinks again for your visit and comment but I think we agree to disagree. The devil is allready apart of the Halloween celebration whether we allow it or not, first off we celebrating the day of tyhe dead and the spirit of darkness, to be honest; I think I read in the bible where Jesus doesn't condone any type of festive holidays, but we celebrate them any way. I think the holiday celebrations began with the Roman catholic churces and they started many pagan holidays. I appreciate you. God bless you. creativeone59

Just turn off my porch light because I have ran out of candy. It is only 7:30 but they started befor 6:00pm. They came as butterfly,Angel, clowns, monsters. The only one that made me a little scare was the Thief. It he had been a little older and a little taller I would have scream and shut the door.

The trick is to not allow the devil be apart of the happy or holiday. Christmas is a good holiday, but when you mix it with Santa Claus it's bad. Easter is about The Passover but you bring the devil in with Easter eggs and Easter Bunnies. The Devil try so hard to take away our holy days for his own. The only thing the devil is good at, is making people think that he never exist.

Thank you Laurie for understanding my point of view, I'm not trying to put anyone down for their beliefs, I just try to call it the way I see it. Your statement about the churches participation is also one I don't agree with because I feel the churches shouldn't even celebrate it, not even for the children, the churches are just as decieved as the people and the children,Lord have mercy on us all. Thank you again fo your support. God bless you. creativeone59

Rosa Ella I appreciate you and IU understand what you're saying but I feel that Halloween is the most harmful day of all because of the evil connotation that go along with the holiday. We are blessed that we have other holidays such as Xmas, Thanksgiving,Easter and birthdays and if that's not enough, we can invent our own days to celebrate if we get creative enough, we can celebrate "We Are Alive Days" with the children and anyone create days to celebrate, without celebrating Halloween. But that's everyone call,I have no control over it. I just want the children safe. God bless you. creativeone59

Creativeone59,

Thank you for this wonderful research and for boldly sharing with us the TRUTH in this matter.

When I was a JW, we were never allowed to celebrate any of the worldy holidays, and so I never participated in Halloween.

Then, just 2 years ago, I started to hand out candy. I left that religion 17 years ago, and so I felt it was probably ok to hand out candy to kids. Seemed harmless enough...

We have so many children in our neighborhodd, and so I finally gave in and bought some candy for the kids. They all looked so cute in their little outfits--that I began to think of this as a harmless little fun day for the kids.

There are many churches in my area that do a little party for the kids on Halloween. So again, it seemed harmless if even the churches are doing it!

But dear sister--your hub has changed my mind about that! Even though I had bought candy to hand out tonight--I won't be doing so! I will be throwing that candy away, because you are right!

I see now, the deception of Satan, and how he is trying to make something wicked seem harmless and fun! That is SO like him, isn't it!

So, I won't be a participant in this, and I thank you for sharing what is probably an unpopular message.

Truth is rarely popular, but we as Christians must stand for truth, and abhor what is bad, just as our God does!

God Bless you sister, awesome job on this subject!

Thank you cindyvine, for your visit, comment and honesty, I appreciate you. My concern is people I don't think realize that it's not just a day for the kids to celebrate, if you going alone with it, you're celebrating a day of darkness and there no way around it. Godspeed to you. creativeone59

All you have said might be true. but you must understand a child youth is so short lived. At a very young age they find out that one day they must die. But not before seeing all who they have love so much die before them. only to grow up and relived the same process. So we try to make there young years very happy with Birthdays, Halloween, Easter, Christmas. With Thankgiving being the most harmless event. The young children celebrating Halloween today feel the same fun as we remember of yesterday. It is these other grown adult that have something evil in mind.

The real mening of the word Halloween is All Hallows Eve. In the Catholic Church the 1st November is All Saints Day, hence the day before which is the 31st of October is All Saints Eve or All Hallows Eve. But now of course Halloween has been changed into something purely for commercial gain, and given evil conotations.

I first encountered Halloween when I was 38 and teaching at an international school in Angola! For the American contingent there who worked for Chevron, Halloween was a big thing! As I'd grown up in South Africa which was quite a Christian country (even the education system was called National Christian Education) and anything mildly satanistic was banned by the government, Halloweeen had always been declared something evil and overly commercial and didn't exist in Southern Africa! I do think most people only do Halloween because of the commercial hype, and have no idea what they are celebrating!
