Ideas for having a St. Patrick's Day Themed Office Party
St. Patrick's Day Parties
Whether you work in a small or large office or are self employed, St. Patrick's Day is a common occasion to get together for a themed business meeting or office party that can incorporate a little fun. Even if you have plans for nighttime, you can also have fun with St. Patrick's Day in the day time. There are many ways to do this. Do you have a home based business where you sell products such as AVON or Mary Kay? Has your upline recommended that you have a grand opening party or if you have been in business for a while, to continue to have occasional parties and open houses? If so, now that spring is upon us, it is the perfect time to invite people and introduce them to the new products while having a St. Patrick's Day theme.
Of course, you will want to have lots of green décor and perhaps incorporate it into the food coloring. Rather than using lots of additional additives and food coloring to create your own homemade dish, you can save time and effort by buying items in the store in keeping with that green theme. How about serving small dishes of green pistachio or mint chocolate chip ice cream? You can also check out my hub, "How to Make a Spinach Smoothie and Trust that It Will be Delicious." As one who commented said, it is VERY green.
Now for the décor: when it comes to having seasonally themed parties, I like companies like the Oriental Trading Company for purchasing festive decorations and little take home goodies in bulk. I recently wrote a hub about wedding favors and the Oriental Trading Company can be good for those too, especially if you are working with a small budget.
Here are my favorite items for pulling together a St. Patricks Day themed office party or home business party.
Reduced Prices for Holiday Merchandise
At the time of my writing this hub, the tablecloth above is available on sale at Target for 9.99.
An important tip is to remember is that for all occasions/holidays, the closer you get to the date, the further the price drop for holiday themed novelties.
For these kind of items, you want to find them when they are most available and not sold out, but wait until the price goes down.
Gift Bags/ Take Home Bags
100% Milk Chocolate Coins, yum!
If they do not eat a lot at the office party/ home business itself, everyone loves a take home bag, especially when it comes to sweets. You can fill these bags with various chocolates or candies. My favorite idea is to use chocolate coins for the good luck theme in keeping with St. Patrick's Day.
The chocolate coins are available at many shops, wholesale stores and manufacturers that carry holiday themes novelties. They include The Candy Warehouse and Oriental Trading Company. In an Oriental Trading Company catalog, I saw chocolate coins with green instead of the gold foil (perfect for St. Patrick's Day), but now as I write this hub, they seem to be sold out. Maybe next year!
If you are having the party for a home based business (AVON, Mary Kay, etc) and you decide not to use chocolate or candy in the goody bags, you might alternatively want to use the bags for fragrance and other product samples.
Here is another suggestion for a St. Patrick's Day themed office or home business party:
St. Patrick's Day Clover Cups and Mugs - Durable and Reusable Plastic
These are among the sturdier of the various types of St Patrick's Day themed cups and mugs that Oriental Trading Company offers. They used to cost $14.99 for one dozen but as I write this hub today, they are on sale for 10.49.
So as I mentioned before, clearance prices are coming into effect. The only down side is that you will want to receive your shipment in time for the St. Patrick's Day party, so as you wait for sale prices, make sure that you do not wait so long that the shipping charges increase for more expedited delivery. That would defeat the purpose of getting the sale price.
These mugs will be for serving up the beverage of choice and with mugs like these, you don't need the drink, itself to be green! I also think these mugs are great for more generous servings of the ice cream I suggested or milk shakes.
For pistachio ice cream you can buy in store, I like Haagen Dazs most of all. I also suggested Haagen Dazs in my hub regarding high fructose corn syrup free products. Because Haagen Dazs uses more natural ingredients, the pistachio ice cream will not be quite as green as many others you can get. You can serve it in the green mugs or buy a brand with more food coloring if you prefer.
Have lots of fun at your office or home business based St. Patrick's Day themed party!
