Surprisingly we found these units still be manufactured using completely refurbished John Deere Hit & Miss motors deep within the Amish Country.

A Complete wagon setup including a refurbished J. D. Hit & Miss motor and a Country Ice Cream Freezer ready to go to work, just like the old county fair days.

At one time an old fashioned county fair was not complete without the sound of the old John Deere Hit & Miss engine surrounded by people looking and wondering how it ran.

At any moment it sounded like it was going to stop, hence the name Hit & Miss, but the old fly wheel kept on a turning whatever machine it was hooked up to.

Another popular attraction was the ice cream booth dishing out homemade ice cream from a wagon mounted ice cream freezer also powered by a J.D. Hit & Miss motor.

For a busy ice cream booth the engine would be driving a double tub unit.

Surprisingly we found these units still be manufactured using completely refurbished John Deere Hit & Miss motors deep within the Amish Country.

They are Amish made, beautiful enough to display in a museum but built ready to go to work. They make a great nostalgic attraction to add to any gathering, with even a refreshing taste of the past.

The units can be purchased with finish oak, and wood spoke wheels, or a more modern version using rubber wheels.

They also come in recycled poly wood. Although John Deer Green is the color of choice to match the old Hit & Miss engine, they can be custom ordered to match any of the old time implements.

The red one pictured uses a hydraulic motor that can be connected to a tractor hydraulic system.

A double tub version is available as well as, get this, one that doesn't require the messy ice and salt. That’s right it has a concealed 110V freezer compressor on board to give the nostalgic look with a modern convenience.

These wagon mounted ice cream units can be purchased on line at Cottage Craft Works .com
