How to Make A Doughnut Birthday card

Here, I had handmade a lovely doughnut birthday card for my best friend’s daughter, who had just celebrated her birthday. This birthday card is suitable for age 2-5 years old little girl as you can see, the card is pink in color with a cute ribbon on top.

In order to make a little girl birthday card like this, you need to fold the card into half, draw a circle and cut them out. To make the see through card, cut a smaller circle in the middle of the front card. I pasted a birthday cake picture which I had picked out from the gift wrapper.

To make the tiny butterflies, you need to have a butterfly punch holder that you can purchase in gift shops or bookstores. Alternatively, you can print these butterflies from free clip art websites, cut them out and paste along the doughnut shape.

The tiny yellow circles actually came from the punch holder. You can paste multi-colors circles instead of choosing one single color. For the inner side of the card, you can either paste a piece of color paper which has creative cut out shape and write the birthday wishes on it. Either way, just simply use a marker pen to write the birthday wishes on the card, as simple as that.

How to Make A Cartoon Character Birthday Card

If the birthday child loves a cartoon character, download the image from free downloadable websites, print it out on a piece of paper and cut it out.

Next, fold the card into half, place the cut out cartoon character on to the front card, trace it out and cut out the character’s shape. The cartoon character replaces the doughnut shape. Follow the rest of the steps or you can create something else with your wild imagination.

Here are the step-by-step instructions with photos taken with my NOKIA N79 handset. Do let me know if you have any problems while making this birthday card and kindly leave some comments.

Choose a birthday cake picture from the gift wrapper.

The size should not exceed 4cm, preferably smaller than the hole.

If the picture is too big, it would be out of the proportion.

Then, attach a double-sided tape behind the stub.

Paste it in the middle of the inside card, visible from the front cover.

To make a stub, cut a small piece of paper, fold it a few times to make it thicker.

Use a sellotape to wrap up the stub. ( sellotape is a type of transparent adhesive tape )
