How to create a Super Bowl Party Invitation
49ers vs Ravens ......Super Bowl XLVII
Playoff games have been played; the teams have been decided. Last weekend the two football games were played to determine the opponents of the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII game. Now it's time to PARTY!!! Some are luckyto score tickets to see Super Bowl XLVII in person but most of us will be home watching the game on TV and what better reason to have a party!!!
Pepperoni, Chicken Wings, Beverages of all types, Chips, and every kind of snack imagined will be consumed in 2 weeks when SUPER BOWL XLVII airs!! The San Fransisco 49ers will be playing against the Baltimore Ravens.....promises to be an exciting game. For those of us who are football fans and even those who aren't, the Super Bowl captivates everyone; from the great snack ideas and good reasons to have a party in the dreary days of winter.
It's Time for a Party Invitation
I've been creating this card but had to wait for the winners to finish the card, as you will see! The Super Bowl is a great day to have your friends in to watch the game and invitations can be made which are handmade and unique to this year's teams. A few invitations can be created easily now that I have made this card; deciding on the where's and how's took the most time for this fun Super Bowl XLVII party card.

Create a base card which measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" opening from the bottom. I used a dark brown cardstock.
Cut a background piece of cardstock measuring 5 3/8" x 4 1/16"; the edges are very close with just a bit of the brown card peaking around. With your White Gel Pen
- draw the football field lines for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 with the lines about 1/2" apart (I tend to eyeball the placement of the lines although I think the real game teams wouldn't like that, lol). 2 5/8" is about the center where your 50 yard line will be drawn.
- draw the numbers on the field with the 50 yard line number being a bit bigger.
Cut one each of the phrase "Super Bowl XLVII Party" using:
- Roly Poly 1/2"
Adhere the letters to the card, spacing the letters and words centered, as shown.
The cartridge will be used for the two football birds. You will cut one set normal and the other set using the Flip key. This way the two players will face each other. The directions below are for the normal bird; repeat all with the FLIP key pressed. 3 Birds on Parade
Cut one <Football>, pg 51, size 2", using the Shadow and Base keyboard keys. This cuts out the shadow cutout. I used Black cardstock.
Cut one <Football>, pg 51, size 2", using the Base keyboard key. This cuts out the body/legs cutout. Use cardstock color for each team.
Cut one <Footbl-s>, pg 51, size 2", using the Shift and Base Keyboard keys. This will cut out the body with face. Punch out the eyehole. I used a lighter blue cardstock.
Cut one <Football>, pg 51, size 2", using the Layer 1 and Base keyboard keys. This will cut out the wing cutouts. I used a darker blue cardstock.
Cut two <Footbl-s>, pg 51, size 2", using the Layer 1, Shift, and Base keyboard keys. This will cut out the Legs/Beak cutouts. Cut one set Yellow (discard legs) and the 2nd set using the cardstock color for each team.
Cut one <Football>, pg 51, size 2", using the Layer 2 and Base keyboard keys. This will cut out the Uniform cutouts. Use cardstock color for each team.
Cut one Footbl-s>, pg 51, size 2", using the Layer 2, Shift, and Base keyboard keys. This will cut out the Helmet, Ball, and Laces.
Cut out a few sets of the Helmet, Ball, and Laces because you will want to have for the finished birds the following and you will discard the extras. This is where having scraps comes in handy:
- Black Helmet, Gold Helmet
- White Laces x 2
- Football x 2

Adhering the birds
The pictures feature the SF player; simply do the same for the Ravens player. Each of the birds has small dashes & lines lightly cut which indicate where a layered piece should be adhered. I always have the finished picture from the box closeby for reference.
Adhere the laces to both footballs where the dashes indicate
Adhere the body/legs to the shadow layer, centered
Adhere the Uniform cutout on top
Adhere the Legs (same color but adds a layered affect)
Adhere the Helmet
Adhere the football in place; one end of the football will go right where there is a pointy area on the bird shape
Adhere the wing partially over the football
After the cutouts are adhered together; take a gel pen of the right color and add a player's jersey #, the team logos to the helmets and any other touches, such as a black spot for the bird's eye.
Cricut Products Used
A fabulous cartridge for every theme featuring a cute little bird
One of the most useful cartridges when you want to cut out letters & basic shapes
Honestly I use each and everyone of these tools everytime I create a card; I would recommend it to any Cricut user.
