You've been invited to a fancy dress party, and you need some ideas because you just can't think of what to go as.

Other times, we may have a fancy dress costume or two stuck away at the back of a wardrobe but perhaps for you it's the wrong time of the year.
If your costume is furry and all-encompassing, you're going to be too hot wearing it to a summer party. Alternatively, your skimpy outfit will leave you shivering if it's winter.
Even if the house or venue the party is being held in is centrally heated, you still have to travel to get there.Try and pick something suitable for the season.
It's always handy to have one or two fancy dress costumes kept in reserve anyway, for those last minute party invitations, or even worse, those parties you have been looking forward to for weeks, but only discovered at the last moment that it was fancy dress!

Don't be tempted to wear a zombie costume to the dancing (in a nightclub), you might find yourself in a spot of bother if fancy dress wasn't on the agenda for the night. Don't be surprised if the management ask you to leave, assuming you got past the bouncers in the first place.
Nor is it advisable to walk down the street wearing one, especially if you develop a stilting gait. You may frighten the children.
