What A Woman Wants...Not Just Valentines, Any Day
Ever heard the phrase Keep It Simple, Stupid (K.I.S.S)? Well it's true, the simpler the gift, the better. I see many hubs and other sites suggesting what to get for your female significant other. Well it dawned on me, why should I sit there and try to figure out what other women want when I can just write about what I want. So here's a little help to you males and/or females out there who can't figure out what to get for your woman. The difference is I'm telling you personally what I want, and I'll describe myself a bit so you don't have to play guessing games. Don't worry, all these gifts are under $50.00 if not less. So lets get started with a little bit about myself and what you should get me!
Locket What I got!
Jewelry is not really my thing unless you count earrings and the occassional bracelet. I don't like to feel too adorned, but I do like sentimental gifts. Though I may not always wear it, it would always be in my possession. As I mentioned before, keep it simple, so ditch the fancy diamonds and cold pearls. I love nature and am always looking to reuse, reduce, recycle and the latest trend, upcycle! So remind me why I'm so drawn to you by snagging up the Polarity Recycled Magnetic Locket by ingenious and quirky Cat Ivins of Olive Bites Studio.
I really love how colorful and unique each of these handmade pieces are, makes them all the more personal.
Size: 1 inch diameter
Pros: These hand crafted lockets are made from recycled steel auto parts. Each locket is individualized by Cat Ivin's and other indie artists. You can add different lids to bring a newness for a gift that keeps changing but still means the same thing. Personalize your own by storing a picture of either yourself or someone close to the heart of your significant other.
Cons: Apparently they're addictive!
Tip: Unlike big department stores and well known brands, you can actually contact the artist Cat Ivin to inquire as to other designs that will be coming out soon and more suitable for your honey. Wouldn't it be great if she would make a unique locket for you??!! Well, I'd love it.
A Neat Picasso
I'm artsy, which can get very messy, but I'm also very organized and need to always know where each of my various mediums are stored. I'm wild about color but I'm not a fan of Jackson Pollack. So get me Plixel Boxes by Umlaute Designbureau.
Plixel is short for Plastic Pixels and they are just as cute!
Size: 6.7x6.7x6.7 in
Pros: These nifty little boxes can be put together in any way to make different shapes. They come in 8 different colors which are: Red, Orange, Yellow, Black, White, Blue, Beige and Green. You can mix and match or create different themes. They are simple and easy to mount up.
Cons: Each box is sold individually at $46.00. But come ooooonnn, dig deep, how much do ya love your woman?
Tip: If you tell me about how much you thought I'd love this concept but you knew we really couldn't afford it, redirect me to these websites (icube, Inspiration, Desk Drawer) with similar ideas but cheaper where I can also let my imagination run wild.
Tea to Drink With Bread and Jam
I'm not crazy about coffee, I prefer tea, whether it's a warm chamomile after I've had a crazy day in the studio or cold ice chai in the summer months to cool me down after reorganizing my paints in a fit of obsessive compulsive creativity. However, the same old tea bag can get boring, and I love the sweet taste of fresh unspoiled tea leaves freshly brewed. The Adagio Teas Ingenuitea Teapot is perfect for me. Don't you think?
Price: $18 - $22.00 ($32.00 with mug)
Size: 16 oz and 32 oz
Pros: Removes the messiness from making loose leaf teas. After brewing, you can just place on top of the Adiago Teas Glass Mug, release valve and enjoy. I especially love that you can see your tea brewing, there's an added beauty to being able to watch the color change which might spark my creativity!
Cons: You might end up make me tea every night at which point I shall request Bread and Jam...kidding, no cons. It's great!
Tip: You want to ruffle my feathers a bit? Get the green tea flowers, or any tea flowers so we can both sit and watch each ball transform into a magnificent flower.
Mixing Business With Pleasure
Sometimes I'm all business and no fun, and those times are when I need you to bring me down to earth. Since i'm slightly mischievous can't resist a good trick. Turn the table by replacing my reads with this Personalized Romantic Novel by Guesthouse Games. Make our pleasure your business by putting us in the leading roles in a romance novel. Who needs Fabio when I've got my boo in my book?
Size: Does it matter??
Pros: You get to put any detail you want in the book, from the color of my beautiful eyes to the song we listened to on our first date. Its a 174 page novel about you, me and the things we like to do. If that doesn't get my mind off work, I don't know what will.
Cons: You want to keep this book in a private area where guests, kids, dogs, etc won't have easy access to it. 18 and older please!
Tip: The more details, the better. Don't be afraid to get specific.
