My Personal Christmas Wish List

Updated on October 5, 2009

All I Want for Christmas Is...My Personal Wish List for Christmas

Mmmmm, I love Christmas. It’s my favorite holiday of the year. And since it is already the first week of October, Christmas is definitely around the corner. Christmas songs are already being played over the radio; Christmas decorations are already seen on TV and the stores; plans are already being made for Christmas parties / activities and the itinerary for one’s Christmas vacation is already being prepared.

Since Christmas is just around the corner, this hub is for my personal wish-list for this wonderful season. Some of these are material things, others are not. Some are realistic, others (at least from my point of view) may not be quite as realistic. But nothing is really impossible and with almost three months still to go, who knows? I might end up having my cake and eating it too. =) Hope you like reading them as much as I loved writing my wish list.

The first on my wish list? A Typhoon-Less Christmas in my country. Last Christmas, we had heavy rains and downpours. This year, we already experienced the wrath of nature with Typhoon Ondoy. Hope that by Christmas, we’ll get past all these typhoons and we’ll see a clear sky perfect for the celebration.

Our country’s recovery from these typhoons. It has been said that it will take one or two months before the floods in some areas in Metro Manila and nearby provinces will subside. I sincerely hope this is not true and that my countrymen will recover from this devastation before December so that everybody can celebrate this Christmas.

A round-trip ticket to Manila (with my husband) to visit my family. I really don’t want to travel during the typhoon-season here (hence my first wish). And I would really love to go to Manila to visit my whole family and have our mini-reunion. Trying to have conversation with my adult relatives while children are running everywhere causing a lot of ruckus, *sigh*, I miss that.

Fulfilling my 8 Hubpages Resolution is second in my wish list. If you want to find out more, visit my hub here.

Set up my own blog. Hubpages is great, the greatest if you ask me. But I always wanted to have my own blog account and that is part of my wish list for this Christmas. My own blog, with my own domain, with my own niche…now that would be something, right?

A new office plus new clients. Not that my present office is not okay, I just wish I have a new office somehow, somewhere. Well, okay, as of now, my budget’s quite not there yet but who knows? I may win the lottery – or perhaps this is really my wish? =) Minus the lottery, getting new clients, both online and offline, will be a way for me to get that money.

Tocoincide with my “new” office, I might as well include in my wish list, a new laptop. With state-of-the art look, fast memory (at least 2 GB) and big, big hard drive capacity (at least 160 GB, 500 GB will be nice though). Throw in a wireless internet connection that I can tap on everywhere I go and I’m good to go.

I’m on a roll here so how about this - a new photocopier. What we are using in the office is fine (a photocopier-printer-scanner type) but it’s like almost 5 years already! And it’s starting to show its age. So, a replacement is in order.

New wheels for our car. With more than 10,000 kilometers under it (in a year’s time), I think our wheels are already crying out for replacements. Wish we can get those but they’re kinda expensive. Oh well, back to getting new clients to pay for those.

A new business. Effective October, I have resigned from my part-time teaching job. I realize that I need more time to concentrate on my accounting practice plus more time to start a new business / job (and get that blog running). Here’s hoping I can have that new business up and running by the end of this year.

Phew, quite a list. These are my wishes for this coming Christmas. I don't think I can have everything but at least I have something concrete to get me by.

What about you? I’m pretty sure you have your own so drop me a line to tell me about your wish list. Merry Christmas everyone!

Note: This is my second hub in the 30-day October Hubchallenge =).
