Poem - Christmas Cards For My Kids

Source

You
Are the light
You
Remove darkness from my night
You
Are my heart
You
Turn my life into art
You
Are so beautiful
You
Remind love never to be forgetful
You
Were sent from heaven above
You
Are the face of God’s love
You
Put the sun into my mind
You
Are always so kind
You
Always run to me
You
Love me so easily
You
Are my angel with blue eyes
You
Will always color my skies
You
Will always be my secret pearl
You
Are Daddy’s little girl

No prouder
Could a father
Ever be
To have a son
Who lives
So honestly
Who is
So strong
Who knows
Right from wrong
Who feels
The pain of another
Who reminds
To care for one another
No prouder
Could a father
Ever be
To have a son
Who can show
His father
How to live
How to love
No prouder
Could a father
Ever be
To have a son
Like you

Perfect in every way! Your daughter's light and heart, and your son's honesty and empathy are touching. Your pride is evident and worthy. Your kids are lucky to have a Dad like you and visa versa.

Hope you all are having a blessed Christmas.

@WillStarr - thanks man... I gave these to my children today. My son seemed to like it but my daughter just glowed and looked at me like I was a God or something... she is only six years old but she said she loved it and put it in her little box that has her money! Love and money... Hey! Has that been written already?

@Truckstop Sally - yes I have all the pride a parent could and should have... there are no expectations other than to be loving and honest and I try to let them know...

@onceuponatime - Thank you for that but no cake today... just pie... ugh and I feel fat... thank you... thank you...

Nothing could be more beautiful than the love of a father for his children. You gave it to then--your daughter is 6--didn't say how old your son, wonderful, keep a copy and give it to them again at 16 and then again on their wedding day. Thanks for sharing a little part of that love with the rest of us.

Really great words to your children--heartfelt and meaningful--every child should have a parent who is not afraid to express emotions out loud-They will someday write a poem of love, respect and kindness to you-just for being a father they look up to. The greatest gift you can give a child is your time-the greatest thing you can tell them-is how much they mean to you..great job

@Dee - thank you... that is a great idea about giving them these cards again and again in the future... I have other things I've written that I want to provide as you say... my son by the way is 14...

@IN2Deep - thank you. It's very easy for me to tell my children "I love you." And they say it to me in response and spontaneously; even my 14 year old son. I hug them liberally and praise them constantly. I hope there is no doubt in there minds that I am on their side.

@sligobay - thank you. Yes... I love them dearly... there is no reason to hide it or cast a silent love... say it and say it often....

The illustrations and images in your page fitted how much you love your children. The words are simply said but tell it all.

@Micky - thank you and you are so right...

@always exploring - these are easy for me because my heart is completely involved... thank you...

@Nilo - I do love them and I wanted simplicity so they would understand... I don't want them to wonder... I want them to know...

These are so wonderful I'm having goosebumps from reading. Let's think they will see them! The thoughts are in the ether, even if they don't come and read them.

What a lucky father you are, to realize the greatness and beauty of your children.

What lucky children you have, to be so beloved.

Namaste.

@Deborah - thank you. It shouldn't be that difficult to love your own children. I can't imagine anything but the extremely vulnerable love that I carry for them. I'm definitley the lucky one....
